The thing of it is, tho, that group meals do save time, say, for the next morning's breakfast. It cuts the cooking time in half, or a quarter, depending on the servings, if there is zero cooking time then. But you do have to remember to put them away.
The only time it really pays to cook single meals, is if your Sim is in the Culinary Career, and needs to cook so many meals for the Daily Task that they will spoil before they are eaten, and you can't afford to spend more money for more servings. A lot of times, what I do, is to Make Drinks, if possible. Some of the drinks can be poured really quickly, such as the Beers and Wines. If you cancel out to prevent them from drinking, the drinks can be sold after putting them in the inventory. I think you can even sell partially consumed, or even empty glasses, bringing a high enough amount that I consider it a bit cheaty. The last I checked, they hadn't nerfed this. It's great when you're starting out, have no money, but throw a party anyway. B)
for that mix/food drink i just did poor water it cost 0 and worked lol
