It's a serious question. My first 'tester' sim became famous and never lost a star even though she just did the work gigs and made appearances at the awards. My first proper sim went to the lounge one day and sang herself to her first star, then stayed home the next day to go to an audition, which she passed and then immediately lost the star she'd just earned. How can one sim do the bare minimum and skate through losing no stars (It took ages to get to 5 star celeb but it was doable) yet the other takes less than a day off the fame treadmill to go to a flipping audition but she loses a star?

My sim just made it to being a global superstar. She came home from her gig, got promoted, then within minutes got a warning she would lose her fame soon if I didn't do something. Its the middle of the night and no sims are roaming freely for her to go out and play or make an appearance. So I cheated to freeze her fame. If you do testingcheats on and then shift click on your sim, you can go to public image and freeze their fame so it doesn't start decaying.

I just make sure they do something everyday from selling a painting they made to chatting with others or the many other fame giving interactions. If you want to stay home and skill or do something not fame related the easiest thing I found was using the drone... I just stream regular life stuff. Eating, skilling, whatever. Just don't take them in the garden when the sprinklers are on.. well unless you need to repair something.

I do feel like it happens a bit quickly. Whenever I get the message I just have them do a quick stream with the drone and it's fine.

Does fame decay seem too quick/harsh?

I know this is something they at EA did attempt to work with because, in sims 3, fame came really for everyone. Gain a skill, gain fame it was crazy. Personally, I love how much harder it is to become famous, especially for those sims I just want to just be ordinary people, which is about 95% of them. For the other 5% for them as well, because it actually gives me something I have to work hard to accomplish, too many things in this game come way too easy for me.

It's frustrated me at times, but it's not unreasonable, either. I think my current issue is I have a house of four Sims trying to get famous for different things, so there's always someone losing fame for one reason or another.

I might just focus on the oldest one and let her have her chance in the spotlight before her son tries to be a celebrity, too.

I have no problem with harder, or it decaying. I was just a bit annoyed that for one sim (who did the bare minimum) it didn't decay that fast, and my other sim it plummeted, I didn't even get the warning notification. She went from earning her star one day, to losing it the very next day. It was totally unexpected and she was waiting in to go to her next audition (which she passed and is now currently sitting at two stars).
