Following on from the hypothetical 'would it look weird?' found here:https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/963130/would-it-look-weird#latestI need to place a house on a 40x30 lot in Brindleton Bay and I want it to be near the coast. The only lot available that meets that criteria is currently the club calico lounge, but I'm wondering if it looks weird to have a residential property there, as the area surrounding the lot looks, non necessarily commercial, but somewhat un-residential.I've placed the house in question (with club calico safely in my library). Might change the wood fence to something that better matches those external arches. There are a number of possibilities, from the arches in build mode, to half-walls with suitable patterns, to some of the ornate white fences...maybe even some pillars, spaced out? Experiment! Glory in the experiments! :tongue: eta: I'd match the roof colors (type too?). But other than that sort of minor adjustment, yeah, I think your house works fine there. The important question is: do you like it? :smile: If it gives you pleasure when you look at it, then it is perfect.

I'm tired so I lost the words for this (there are ones!), but landscapers do things to blend houses into their environment all the time in the real world. We just have to figure out how to do that here--if it's worth it to you to do it, that is.

I think the lot would better benefit with a large colonial manor, like something a bigshot in the town would live in. Just my 2 simoleons.

It would actually sort out about 4 other lots if I put the house into the ragdoll refurb lot so I'm trying to figure out how to do that at the moment.

The house is fine for the most part, but i'd change the roof tiles to match the nearby arch roofs, i'd slightly adjust the house roof to bend inward slightly and yes, the fence should be changed to something similar to the area. after that, it would be fine.However as it is, it really doesn't stand out that much as the nearby arches are a bit overpowering that sort of takes your eye of the house somewhat.

Truth be told, I'm not happy with it. I'm happy with the house, but I'm not happy with how it sits in that environment. I wish we had the ability to edit worlds; I'd be happy with it if I could take up the white flooring to leave just grass and if I could get rid of the structures in the foreground of the first pic.

I honestly don't know. It would actually sort out about 4 other lots if I put the house into the ragdoll refurb lot so I'm trying to figure out how to do that at the moment.

That's what struck me first - it's so low compared to its surroundings.

Good luck with the ragdoll refurb! I understand what you're doing; have been there many times myself. It's why I'm impatient for them to give us the ability to place empty lots wherever we can, as they did in every other iteration of the game (eventually). I have so many households who belong in particular neighborhoods in particular worlds, but where there are no suitable lots available!--mostly because there are nowhere near enough lots. So one has to make do, & reconsider who lives where, & maybe this HH can go there but then this needs to change and... yeah, it's a lot of work and adjusting and re-adjusting. So--good luck!

Thanks! and I'm sorry to hear about your troubles. I only have 8 (ish) households but I appreciate that if you have a lot that can't be easy. I actually really like the ragdoll refurb lot, but oh how I wish it was a 20x30.

I'm going to refer to this as the housing crisis :D

I, personally, would not want it there. The entry gate gives me Condo, Assisted Living or Country Club vibes.

I think it would look great at Tail’s End, the lot next door. But you may already have ruled that out.
