I don't like the more social aspects of the game, so for me, my storytelling is more about designing Sims and their houses with a particular interest and personality in mind. (So, if I intend for my Sim to become an artist, she'll have the creative trait and more bohemian clothing, whereas a Sim destined to become an archaeologist would have the outdoorsy trait and very tailored clothing. The artist might have a cottage or gothic-themed house, while a scientist would have very modern furnishings.)
