Okay, after playing this EP for nearly 2 weeks I have to add my thoughts about the dogs as well.
Initially (prior to the release of the EP), I thought that the dogs would be much better than the cats. If you notice from the live streams, the Devs didn’t really focus much on the cats. They kept showing dogs, so I was really amped for the dogs. I thought dogs were going to be the best companions for our sims. Boy I was wrong - very wrong! The dogs are a nightmare. They are either bugged or were programmed to be dogs from (h-e-double hockey sticks). No matter how much you train your dogs to go outside on their own, they will still sit at the door whining that they need to go outside to relieve themselves. Sometimes they do go outside to do their business, but a lot of the time they don’t. They constantly want to be walked. They are extremely co-dependent on the Sims. Our sims can’t really do much else, because the dogs are always wanting something or whining for something. I truly hope that the Devs address the training bugs and tune down the need to be walked. Speaking of walks, the short walk takes several sim hours. I hope this is addressed as well.
The cats, they were done right. I’ve noticed that some members were saying that the cats are boring and that they don’t do much. Well pay attention to RL cats. Unless your cat is affectionate or likes to be around people, they pretty much do their own thing. That’s what they do in this EP. Sure, sometimes they want a pet here and there, but they are free spirited animals and this was captured beautifully. Another household I’m playing with a rambunctious toddler and a cat, oh it’s heaven. I swear the toddler is better behaved and less dependent on my sims than the dogs I’ve played are lol.
Okay,
Rant over.
