Dying from being enraged.

My teen aged up while he was in an enraged mood. He sat down and had something to eat, still enraged. He was still considered a child as his mum could still parent him.
He got up and I got a message saying he was dying from a cardiac arrest. from being enraged. A teen phase that should have disappeared when he became a young adult.
Luckily his mum succeeded in pleading for his life.

But he still has the enraged mood. I tried exiting to main menu and back into the game but he still has it.
Shouldn't it go once he aged up?
  • Nope if you age them up while they are either mortified or enraged from a school incident it will cause them to die as soon as they age up into a young adult

    Hello
This cheat will remove all the emotions
    Sims.remove_all_buffs
But the buff cheats have been removed with a recent patch. This post on the AHQ EA explains about this

A simmer called TwistedMexi has made a mod to enable simmers to be able to use the cheats again

Yep, other people have had the same problem. I remember a discussion similar to this (Aged up a teen in Mortified mood swing, died by embarrassment after aging up).
With The Sims 4 Parenthood, teens have the strongest mood swings (that give 50 points). If they age up with uncontrolled emotions, they continue to get mood swings, but are much more weaker, only giving 2 points. In short, mood swings is not a childhood phase and happens randomly, after school or work, or after arguing. Because of this, teen who ages up with mood swing keeps the mood swing, and may die because the immunity of emotional deaths is removed.
Childhood phases are temporary traits like mean streak, picky eater, rebellious, and loud. There are also age exclusive childhood phases like I'm a Bear and clingy for children and distant for teens. As mood swings are just a moodlets that last 8 hours, it cannot be categorized as a phase.
Remember that and please be careful next time.

Tip. If you accidentally age up a teen with a mood swing, get a potion called Moodlet Solver. This is avalible in rewards store for 500 satisfaction points and is a dark green potion. Not only it removes negative moodlet, but it also maxes out needs.

Yes, I play with aging on but aged him 2 days before his birthday with the cake.

Thanks @rosemow for the mod link, I'll check it out :)
  • Thanks.
This is the first time I ever aged them up while they were in a mood so I just assumed it would vanish. I sent him off jogging that seemed to do the trick. I just imagined him dying again straight off because it wasn't going.
