Earning aspiration reward traits

I sometimes run into a situation where I'd like to earn a certain reward trait from an aspiration, but it requires joining a career that conflicts with my plans for that sim. For example currently I have a politician/spellcaster (alchemist), who would like to complete the mixologist aspiration. Obviously he cannot join the culinary career - he has to rule the city! The politician's PR manager would greatly benefit from the Public Enemy reward trait, but I can't imagine him joining the criminal career.

In cases like these, what would you consider a fair replacement task for "reach top level of career"?

EDIT: What I wanted to say is that I want to earn the trait, as in: work for it. I know I can always use cheats and mods to just add the rewrd trait to my sim, but that's not my goal. I want to first complete a task that is about equally challenging to "reach top of career" before I use the cheat.

Sound idea, but with this particular sim I was facing the problem that he is supposed to be a high ranking politician as mentioned in the initial post. My other sims cannot hire him for bartender duty. I'll keep this approach in mind for future sims!

Why can't they hire him? Does he not have a magical disguise he can use for his bartending shifts?
  • Being a celeb, technically the politician does have such a disguise, however, I have a hard time imagining a state governor equivalent going this route. A young politician who's still full of college spirit might find it fun, or one with the Goofball trait or maybe a Harun al-Rashid like person who wants to learn more about what people think. Since my sim isn't any of that, I came up with the gentlemen's club idea as the closest thing. It has my sim work, but from a position of power.
  • Sorry for double post. I finished the governor's turn in this round just now. He didn't make much progress in drink serving, but performed lots of story-relevant stuff and completed the Leader of the pack aspiration. I've come to love the officer's club a lot.

Shifts worked over the course of one week: three full and four days worth another full shift if added together
    Money made: 18,000 simoleons
  • Maybe I'm overthinking this, but I'm really intrigued by this scenario. I've some additional thought about the Governor Master Mixologist.
    1. This isn't making this easier for you, but I remembered that you need to have level 4 cooking in order to be promoted to level 6 of the mixologist career. It's your game of course, but I would consider it a bit cheaty to consider him promoted if he doesn't have that skill level.
    2. Another approach to the officer's club: If you only want members of clubs to show up, that means that you'll be able to direct their autonomous behaviors through club activities. You don't need a lot type to tell them what they're supposed to do. So, you can make the Officer's Club a generic lot. In my experience, random townies don't show up to generic lots. I know for a fact bowlers don't.
  • @Eleri I tried making the club a generic lot and national park, unfortunately they do not allow for club meetings.

Good point about the cooking skill. My sim made a few cheese platters (cc) here and there to go with the nectar, taking him to level four this way shouldn't be a problem. Something like seven would be professional level, I don't have an issue with a regular sim reaching cooking level four. (Yeah, I know, I curate and houserule way too much.)

You can set club activities to 'mix drinks and I think there is a perk to boost mixology and cooking skills too while increasing your club points at meetings. They are a lot of fun! ??
  • @LuvtehGeeks I loved clubs to pieces when GT was new, later I neglected them more and more, so rediscovering the feature was fun indeed! (First perk my sim bought was the one that makes everyone inspired during meetings for a small additional mixology boost).
