- The thing for me is that I was super excited to try the trial, but I didn't really end up playing it + I'm trying to make saves without the trial when the trial is still on, so I have to go and delete every Evergreen Harbor townie, so that when I load the save after the trial's over, there's not an almost-nekkid Knox Greenburg walking around lol
- mariefoxprice834 years agoSeasoned VeteranI'm getting bored of trying to make the town either green or industrial. I don't really like the Eco Living career and most of the objects like the bug house and candle maker don't do that much for me. I'll miss the juice machine and some of the CAS items but that's about it. I'm a little sad I haven't got time to properly try out a couple of the more unusual NAPs such as Back to the Old Days but I have work tomorrow and I had an idea for a new save in the Cottage Living village so I really want to start making sims for that instead.
- Divinity_wingz4 years agoSeasoned NewcomerAhh, I forgot all about this! I will try to play later tonight if the trial doesn't end by then.
- SimsBarbie4 years agoNew SpectatorI love the b/b and cas. The one neighborhood with the docks is trashy but I love it. I've seen it neutral or green and how beautiful that neighborhood becomes. I won't give away the cool changes, but worth the effort. I use the solar panels and wind turbines a lot! Especially in Henford on Bagley. I think there a couple of new lot traits too? Very useful. Geothermal and the fresh water one. I use the bug box for cricket, grub and beetle meals that can be created also for bio fuel. I have not tried fabricating furniture and all the other hidden stuff. There's so much to do in this pack. Oh and I like that in the debug category you can add most of the objects from the world. In the gallery I've seen some nice urban, industrial worn down builds full of debris and trash. Love it.
One time I rotated to my sims living in the Spice District where the sky was smoggy and ocean brownish? I was like oh well..lol - Isharell4 years agoNew SpectatorI played it for a few hours Saturday and Sunday. BB and CAS is great, as always. Fell in love with a couple of hairstyles; wish I could get them separate. The world itself is interesting, but I found it ultimately depressing. I didn't like many of the existing builds, and the community lots were so bare bones I didn't at first realize they were playable at all. The Pre made sims did not interest me. I played with NAPs on Sunday, which confirmed my opinion that I didn't like them. They are way too much trouble for me to deal with, given my gaming style.
@Monaveil is quite right, this would be great if you wanted a save that was dedicated to random chaos. I had thought much the same. If I ever get it I might have one save for Semi Post Apocalyptic My-neighbor-is-a-loony NAP inspired craziness. - simsimsere4 years agoSeasoned Adventurer@Isharell All three community spaces in Evergreen Harbour change through voting and became more usable. There are three prebuilt options for each, maker space, market space and community garden. The world changes to a lot prettier when you enact modern development and green iniatitive NAPs. Just mentioning these because it sound like maybe you didn't test them out and part of the pack is how you can change the world :)

Thanks for the info, @musteni. I was really disappointed at how minimal they were, I'm glad to know they change. I didn't have much time to try it out, so I didn't see much more than smog and coughing sims. ;) I tend to explore a lot rather than play with a new pack, and spent quite a bit of time looking at the builds and the neighborhood. I do want this pack, even if only for the BB and CAS (I'm still pining for that one hairstyle, sigh). Because of the NAPs I'd disable them immediately and then set up an individual save for them to see how they affect all my other worlds before letting them loose in one of my other saves. I'm not sure how much more my Mom's laptop can take, so I have decided to hold off on this one for now. I'm hoping to get a new laptop in a year or so, and I think this pack will go toward the top of the list at that time. - Lyrie184 years agoSeasoned ObserverHi there simmers!
I have a quick Q bought ECO and was wonder if right away, first thing I do in game is turn off NPC voting, will the NAPs still be activated?
Will I have to repeal them in each world?
Thanks in advance if anyone knows ? - I took advantage of the Eco trial as well and I'm still on the fence when it comes to actually buying it. For the most part I did enjoy it and thought it was quite fun, but I still have a bunch of questions especially regarding the mechanics of the NAPs.
My test sim managed to get rally enough votes for a couple of garden initiatives as the first two NAPs and Port Promise turned neutral with lovely greenery growing everywhere around the place. Then I thought that for the third NAP I would just let the rest of the community decide what they wanted and then Free Love won. Now it made for some crazy and funny moments at first, but it got somewhat tiresome when the Landgraabs decided to become part of it and seemed to take their new-found love of naturism to every single bar or nightclub in every single world making every conversation stop and everyone's focus turn to them whenever they turned up at those locations which by the way they always seemed to do. And that became pretty annoying.
So 1st: I forgot to check if there were active NAPs in other worlds as I was mainly focusing on Evergreen Harbour, but at the same time the Landgraabs weren't running around naked until the Free Love NAP was implemented in Port Promise. Could it have been the effect of the NAP in Port Promise taking over or is it more likely that Free Love was enacted in other worlds as well (the Landgraabs were, however, the only ones streaking outside of Port Promise)? And if so is it possible to just have NAPs in the three neighbourhoods in Evergreen Harbour and turn NAPs off in all the other neighbourhoods in all the other worlds?
2nd: I thought the total NAPs for one neighbourhood was three, but then it turned out to be four. I think four is a lot especially if it means that by the time you manage to get four NAPs in your own neighbourhood there is most likely also going to be four active NAPs in all neighbourhoods in the other worlds as well. Now as mentioned I managed to get Port Promise neutral with plantes covering the industrial site from having two environmentally friendly NAPs, but will the look of the place change significantly by having additionally two NAPs focusing on the environment? Or is it possible to have three or four NAPs in some neighbourhoods and just one or two in others? Furthermore if I turn off NAPs in setting after having implemented just two, is it guaranteed that no further NAPs will be generated anywhere?
3rd: I'm working on a save where I'm deleting all the premades and I was planning on having a hippie commune at one or maybe a couple of lots in the Shady Acres neighbourhood in StrangerVille and I thought Free Love would be a perfect NAP for that place. Then much to my chagrin it seems NAPs aren't an option in StrangerVille. Is this true? I also read somewhere that NAPs could possible be carried over as secrets traits - is this true? And if so would they work in StrangerVille or is that place just a complete no go for NAPs?
4th: Have those of you who own Eco Lifestyle noticed if the new phone calls override the old ones? I'm one of those players who really likes the calls my sims get from other sims and the old phone calls have already seriously decreased. Will they become entirely extinct from adding Eco Lifestyle?
5th: As Monaveil mentioned I also noticed an extreme increase in premades (I mostly steer clear of those and much prefer the randomly generated townies) with sims such as Clara Bjergsen dumpster diving which seemed rather out of character. Does having Eco Living installed seem to generate more of the premades in your neighbourhoods or might it just have been a coincidence? - lanlynk4 years agoSeasoned HotshotSteam has Eco Lifestyle on sale now for 50% off. After taking advantage of the recent free trial, I decided to buy the pack. Last night, I opened all my current 15 saves and turned off NAPs, then made separate saves for each. And in most of them, I also turned off the effects option--at least until I get a good handle on managing things. I have 3 or 4 worlds now where I can experiment with full Eco gameplay. I'm crossing my fingers that things will go ok. :D Looking forward to working with the Eco household I started with the free trial too. :)
