Anyone else ever notice that every time an occult and a human have a baby it always seems to come out occult? I was under the impression that it was a 50/50 chance but I have done a mermaid legacy family (bad idea, turns out elders get a lot of extra days of life it sit around and be bored) and a spell caster family where I always had the legacy Sim marry a human and every single offspring was always a spellcaster/mermaid. I us MCC Command so I was actually able to track the entire family tree, not just the ones actively living in my house and all of their descendants, ever last one, was a spellcaster or a Mermaid.Did the nerf the genetics because people were sad the human/occult babies sometimes turns out human? I wanted to play a legacy family there the first born occult carried on the line but they were always all occult no mater what. frustrating. Now, as I type this out I am am starting to bet this is something I can fix myself with MCC Command...... but I will leave it anyways to see if it's just me or others have experienced this too.

I Mean Personally I do believe it's genetics and when it comes to occults, Supernatural, magic, traits are always more dominant than human traits. I'd imagine it should be a rare chance, or a fluke, that the child would be born Human with no trace of the Parent's occult status at all.

I've had human babies from Spellcaster/Human pairings. I also check through MCCC and I see other families with some Spellcaster and some Human children.Maybe check your MCCC settings? That may be influencing things. Ether Population or Pregnancy and ... I want to say there's something for occult inheritance distribution, but I'm not sure.

I usually have more non-occult kids and I play vanilla. I even did a test with vampires on a dark ley line and still got only a few, though it has been a while. (By the way, I think it would be really cool to have lot traits for the other occults like that. Maybe even one to encourage alien abduction where it was nerfed into the ground.)Anyway, I don't see any real reason one trait would necessarily be more dominant than the other. Since they are fictional anyway, it is whatever fantasy your brain wants for them to be dominant or recessive genes. Sims 4 seemed to pick equally heritable.

I tend to always pair mine with a spellcaster because I love the option of a normal born sim born with a bloodline trait it kind of gives it a hybrid feel without breaking the game. Though in your case OP I think it is mostly due to the genetics or the previous generations. If one of the occult sims is with a normal sim then yes it would be a 50/50 chance even if the parent was inpregnanted before the other was turned either by kelp fruit, vampire bite or through a spell but after that there would be a 50/50 chance then the offspring would be occult. However what I have noticed though is that the spellcaster is a little more dominate than the others due to the bloodline being passed down. It would be a total 1/50 chance that the offspring would become normal.Though with MCC I think you maybe having more of a population issue so you could just go into it's settings and tweak it so you could have a normal sim at some point or you could just use the occult command and human-ize the sim and then go from there.

i had human and spellcaster make some kiddos they got twins and one of the twins is spellcaster other isn't sooooo id say its pretty 50/50

then again i havent been playing with mermaids much lately and certainly not with human sims so that might be the issue here

The only occult I play is spellcasters, and I use MCCC to keep the chance of spellcaster offspring born with humans at 10%. I used to leave it at the default 50%, but I really didn't want my worlds overrun with spellcasters, and that was indeed beginning to happen. :o

Oh, and I almost forgot, another MCCC setting you can use to influence the number of occults born is to set a limit of how many (of each) can exist before more are allowed to be born. The game might spawn more, depending on other mods you might have or other factors, but it won't allow more to be born if the number of a given occult already exists at or above your limit. I have mine set to a very restrictive number, but if I recall correctly, the default setting is unlimited.

2 of the last 5 human/occult babies in my game came out occult. I don't use any mods that affect that.

I have a mermaid legacy too, all my mermaid heirs married humans, even had twins who were both mermaids so I just assumed I would always have mermaids but I just got to generation five and was actually surprised the baby wasn't a mermaid!

Change your settings in MCCC so that there are fewer. Maybe from 50% to 10% and lower the max population for that occult too.

I've not had a problem with it and have had 5 of 19 children with an occult parent be an occult sim.
