- LaBlue0314Rising ScoutMy sims will wear their everyday outfit unless they become too hot or too cold, then they will change into the appropriate outfits.
- Kita5399New SpectatorIf the weather in your game causes this to happen, and you aren’t happy with it, you can always make all three outfits the same. You simply click off the hot or cold weather tag/filter, and then have access to any outfit in game for those categories. Also using the thermostat indoors will help, and your Sim should wear the everyday outfit inside if the thermostat is set correctly. Which world are you playing in?.. as that shouldn’t really happen unless the weather is always hot/heat wave or freezing.
- EgonVMSeasoned AceSims tend to wear their everyday clothing when it is cool or warm. That usually happens in spring or fall.
However, there is one big exception. Vampires wear their everyday clothing no matter what the weather is due to the fact that they are immune to temperature effects. - Mine only dress for the heat/cold once they head outside. When they come home they don’t change back into everyday automatically. It would be great if they did, knowing the home is temp controlled. I have them change sometimes and if they have visitors, I “ask to see outfit” if they really look out of place.
On the flip side, sometimes I see my sims from other households out in the world not dressed appropriately and if they look too cold I “ask to see (cold weather) outfit” so they don’t freeze to death. - GalacticGalSeasoned AceI have the tendency to give my Sims everyday wear to suit the season I plan to start them out in. Then, as the season changes, I take the family into cas.fulleditmode and change their everyday wear to be more suited for the season they're in. It's a real pain when summer is cold, however. I've got a mod in use that allows for a three-week season, which I like far better. It's day 12 of 21 and most of the mornings start out cold. Yet by midday or later it's a real scorcher. (Reminds me of a saying we have here, "You know you're in Utah when you have the furnace on in the morning, and the A.C. on in the afternoon.) :* I also use MCCC so that's not a real worry, as I can just click on the MC dresser command under the cheat and change my Sims' outfit.
What is a real worry is when my Sims decide to go swimming, or just to sit on the edge of the pool in their swimsuit, dangling their lower legs in the water in the WINTER. "What is wrong with you!" I can be heard yelling at my Sims. First time I got the message a certain Sim was freezing to death I nearly panicked. Had to come to these boards for help. Turns out, there is a 'grace' period that allows the player to do something about it before the Sim actually dies. Phew! Also, installing a thermostat in the home will help keep your Sims from wearing the cold weather clothing indoors. Fireplaces that are lit, aren't recognized, which is too bad. They didn't have forced-air heating in the 18th century … talk about an immersion-kill. "calaprfy;c-17578943" wrote:
It's a mega pain if you have Laundry Day. The clothes changing generates a ton of washing.
Also, do not host parties during cold/hot weather as the other sims turn up in party outfits which do not protect them from the weather, cue several deaths.
Once i had 3 guests die in a christmas party. There was a snow storm and they never made it to my sim's home.- I wish there was a way to automatically turn on the thermostat when you enter a public building. I hate having to turn on the heat/ cold every time my sim goes out to a restaurant/ bar/ club. Otherwise everyone is dancing in their winter coats, and it looks quite silly.
- I turn off the weather affecting my sim so unless I leave them and go to another household and then come back, they dont tend to change to winter/summer clothing. The winterclothing is really bad, especially if you are trying to follow a past times game play.
- bshag4lvSeasoned AdventurerI change my sims' clothes twice in a "sim year." I too have the 21 day seasons and I change their clothes at the beginning of spring and at the beginning of autumn. I like to dress my sims' cold weather outfits with jeans and a sweater that is slated to be "cold weather outfit." If they go to the bar and don't change out of cold weather clothes, they don't look like it, no bulky coat. I do not have thermostats in the community venues, that would make me crazy, so this works for me. The everyday outfits are a mix of clothes that can be worn in warm or cool climates.

Not just in game. Little Ms Sam has a mod for it though. Her mods are great and really stable. It works on both owned and community lots.
