I will just be fully honest. To date I have purchased every single pack for this game at a grant total of $460.00 and at Christmas I invested $900.00 in a new desktop designed for gaming that Chesterbigbird advised me should last the life of the game. That's a grand total of $1360.00 since I first purchased the base game in 2014, or $340.00/year. I don't go to movies ever, because I hate theaters, I almost never eat out in restaurants, I don't really travel much at all, so this is my main source of entertainment and my main hobby combined. So for me, no I don't feel guilty.
The game was my refuge during cancer treatments, and has become a place I can go to quiet my anxiety when real life gets to be too much, so I guess it's also a form of therapy, and is much much cheaper than paying a psychologist. I guess it comes down to each person, and what they feel they are getting in return for the expenditure. For me, I get a lot of bang for my buck so to speak, and the computer aside the expense is spread out pretty well, so I'm not spending a lot of money at any one time. To me it's worth it to have a place to go that runs as I see fit, that allows me to regroup when the world I really can't control gets to be just too much.
