Now there’s still no guarantee they will succeed but businesses don’t generally take blind risks they try to mitigate as much as they can.
I mean, EA let them make StrangerFail because Grant wanted it and they just cared about making a quick buck. Granted, they put in laptops and the military career to draw in people, so that could have been them trying to draw in people with safe things they know people would want.
Thank goodness they put the "safe stuff" because that was the only reason I bought it. The military career, a new world, decent amount of CAS/Build additions, and a new "negative" trait, paranoid, was worth $10 in my eyes, so I waited for Strangerville to go 50% off before buying.
The story was a cute gimmick, but I love the neighborhood of Strangerville more as it strongly reminds me of Strangetown in Sims 2 so much that I keep my aliens, mad scientists, and aloof rich politicians in Strangerville like I used to in Strangetown.
I thought at the time it was cute they gave us a tiny bit of something different all while still giving us many of traditional long-term features. Little did I know that they were going to take "guided gameplay" to the next level.
I think there are 3 stories to play out in JTB, which is waaaaaaay better than coming up with hundreds of stories where you decide what happens like Sims games of past...and even better?! Added Bonus! You can also visit Batuu any time after the story is over where there is little to do and even watch your neighbors in other worlds light-saber battle in the streets!
