@trulyoutrageous That's cool that you have a routine for your Sims. I always like hearing about how others Simmers play.

For me, it depends on what Save/Challenge I'm playing and rather I have a routine or not. For example for my 100 Baby Challenge, I definitely have a routine. I try to have a schedule for my toddlers and child age Sims, otherwise the house would be complete chaos. My Legacy family (original legacy by Pinstar w/scoring), I definitely have a routine as I try to capture all the points available. Most of the challenges I play, I try to stick to a specific schedule.

But for my other Saves, that I play rotational, I don't really have a routine. I tend to play with larger households of 7-8 Sims, so I don't watch what they do most of the time. I may set them up with something but they'll finish and go and do their own thing. I used to micromanage my Sims in the previous versions, but in TS4, I tend to just let there be a free for all. I kind of like to see what they get themselves into lol.

I try to have basic routines such as breakfast and dinner but when it comes to the bathroom schedule, there often isn't time for everyone to shower in the morning.

My families also have routines. But it dépends who I'm playing with.

For example, I have a single father who wakes up at 5:30 am to make breakfast for his kids, then wakes up his daughter and tells her to go eat while he bathes his toddler son, etc.

In another household, the teenage son always goes back to sleep until 7:50, then freaks out because he's late to school and tries to hurry up while his mom yell at him.

In my religious family, they "pray" the Grand Llama every morning (I actually just click "view" on the llama toy). And they go to the Llama temple every tuesday and thursday morning at 5:00.

I try to make it unique in every household so that I don't get bored.

Lol, my sims lives are mostly as scattered as my own. I try to get them to eat together but for my big families it is near impossible ... lol. Before work, I will try to make sure their needs are filled, and I try to get them to sleep at a decent hour, but if they are at a night club or something they tend to lose track of time.

I feel like some sort of weirdo, because I'm a huge micromanager but don't have any of these routines. Maybe that's because I'm also irl that way; I just go with the flow. If a sim is hungry, they eat. If they're bored, they do something fun. I also try to go with the emotion and whims. I love whims <3

Nope, I don't have any routine for them. The only routine is that they must sleep at night even though they aren't tired sometimes :D

Depends on the Sim, every sim has a different routine.
the Jordans, Adam and Diane, and they are my wealthier sims.
I have an In-house chef to make breakfast, he wakes up at 4am gets himself together, and by 6am and gets started.

Adam wakes up at 7am, brushes his teeth, does his business, crawls back into bed and wakes Diane up, with some woohoo.
After they put themselves back together after their lovely session, they go down stairs, around 9am and have breakfast, and then the rest of the day depends on me. I try to schedule, meetings and things to do. Because Adam is an Investor, and a Inventor and he is the leader of the "Briarwood Elite" Club, that each member has influence over society in one form or another. As does Diane and her Club: "The Housewives of Briarwood."

Lunch I aim for lunch around 11am-noon-1pm. Pending on what their hunger looks like, if we're in the yellow we do lunch if we're still green we just have wine or cocktails. and continue what ever they're doing.

Dinner with dessert is 6pm-7pm, wind down, Diane usually takes a bath, with a glass of wine, with Jazz or classical music in the background.
While Adam is out on the balcony with a beer enjoying the Moonlight and breeze. Potentially there could be another woohoo session before bed.
For them bedtime is roughly 10pm, or by Midnight they are definitely asleep.

This is their normal life, I can't wait to turn them into werewolves, then their actual story can begin!

My sims run around on free will, doing what they want, as long as they go to school or work, but I am keeping an eye on their needs and usually intervine when something starts to near yellow. The only routine I have is sending my sims to bed at night, so that they won't be tired next day, and I sometimes fail to do even that.

It depends on the rotation...right now I’m in between playing a mermaid save and vampire save. Vampires don’t eat breakfast per se, and since they can’t be out in the day much I wait until night to feed and have any adventures. And with most of my rotations I see basic needs being fulfilled as needed, unless I want everyone to be prepared for like an upcoming event such as wedding or work.

It's a little more of a free-for-all in my game, although I do make sure the school aged Sims do their homework and/or projects; extra credit if they have some. I tend to look at the needs of my Sims to determine if a meal needs to be served. I do have a Child Sim set the table (used to be my job growing up) and I try to make sure they all get to bed at a reasonable hour. If not, I cheat their needs. (Was never that way previously, but now I'm dependent on it. ) :open_mouth: I do try to make sure my couples interact enough to keep their relationship alive. I play on autonomous, so it's a bonus when the siblings interact quite on their own. I also have to maintain my celebrity Sim, because from time to time if he doesn't do enough Fame+ interactions, I'll get a nasty notice his star is fading. Never mind that he's constantly on tour, and so far he's churned out 13 albums and several singles.
