For Rent Opinions please

I don't really like building stuff and pretending it to work a way that doesn't exist and FR made me feel able to build apartments. I've owned the pack for about 6 months now and I haven't played with residential rentals at all. The cas and build assets are beautiful but I would love more beds and some kitchen appliances. I believe that it is possible to live in a rental and not be owned by a landlord which makes me want to be able to have a small business and the business be tied to the lot and not the sim. I just like the idea that you can go to a special lot and not have to bother with another sim setting it up.

SEREFRAS​  Rental Residential lots are a venue type right?  Some say they have no problems with it, others do, either way, I will not enable anything in For Rent (pic below) or use Rental Residential venue if that is what it is, I have zero desire to play "Landlord" - didn't want it when it came out -🙃  not now either!  🤪.... Honestly added a few things to the household I am currently playing a challenge to complete 20 collections in 1 household unit.  ...... my sims did visit Tomarang, all of it.😁 got a couple of rares we needed too!  I do love the scenery!  I love the outdoors!  Another neighborhood to learn the weather patterns in.  🤩 nice fishing locations too!  

Most of the pack has been fixed except for the Rental Residential Lots.  Please for your own sake don't use the Rental Residential Lots.😱  That being said, the CAS & Objects are wonderful.😍                                                Also, Tomarang is a beautiful world.😀

I have vacation rentals in Tomarang only and I use those lots when my sims are on vacation. I haven't had any issues. 

Edit: Nobody lives in my Tomarang. It's just set up with vacation rentals and a huge night market that I downloaded from TSR.

atreya33​   I am glad you pointed out and explained the diifference in the venue type " residential rental" vs "vacation rental" regarding the "bug" with rentals because I did not know this info!!!  I thought it was anything that was a rental so I have been avoiding MyShuno as well for that sole reason.  Now I know I can play Myshuno!    I also didn't think that generic lots were "designed" to not show up for social events.  I bet your right about it tho!  

I mainly use rental units in order to split up lots, giving room for more households in my game. I try to set this up without a specific landlord, but I'm sure my first complexes were owned by a sim. I never played the landlords a lot though, and I think the many challenges (breaking stuff etc) is not good for my rotational game. I prefer focusing on other matters once I stop by for a limited time. I plan to remove the landlord ownership, but on the other side it seems to have no to little impact when I simply ignore the landlord related popups/challenges.

This said, I play so many different households, and rarely stop for more than a couple simdays. So I probably did not play each rental unit long enough to trigger all aspects of this feature.

I got the pack when it was released. I have created rental lots and played as a landlord and a tenant with no issues. (There was a bug where the game didn't register me fixing a tenant's complaint, but not any of the major issues that everyone talks about.) I have not played like lots and lots with the landlord/tenant gameplay, because I normally play with regular families. I have continued to play the rental untis though as it has caused me no problems. Just need to remember to make backups.

First of all this is good to know that your game is running fine without any bugs with this EP.

Lot traits are important.

Are you playing as tenants or landlords or both?

rujuta4me​ I mean the residential rental lot type. From what I heard it causes problems because you are technically adding a new lot to your save and too many of these additional lots can cause problems. I will edit my post to clarify. 

Vacation rentals are fine in my game. I haven't heard that they cause any issues. I use them from time to time. I have turned some of them into residential lots because I want a family to live there. 

I think generic lots are intentionally not showing up for social events, which is a shame. I usually set a lot as something else if I want to use it for social events.
