Freezing to death - wearing outerwear indoor...

So, lately I had a problem with sims being blue and the warning they are freezing to death as I enter a lot. This is soooo wrong, as it is Spring, temperature is not Freezing but Cool, the sim in question is wearing his outerwear AND he is indoor! The household owns no thermostat but, but you should not turn blue while wearing your outerwear indoor, thermostat or not. The other family members were fine.

This did not happen earlier, so I wonder if it is a new bug? As long as I am aware I will use the UI Cheat to get rid of the modlet. But without that cheat I don't even see how I could save my sim.

LOL You don't live where I live. Sometimes, we get snow all the way into June! Rare, but it has happened at least once in the past 14 years we have been here. Does the lot have a thermostat in it? I learned that just having fireplaces isn't enough to stave off the cold. Should be. Once upon a time, that's all we had to keep warm. I think if a person in RL was brought forward in time to now, they would be in awe of forced air heating/cooling. I can see my sixth great-grandfather tapping at the thermostat trying to figure out just what the heck it was. LOL

The entire weather system needs a re-fix. What i hate the most is the need to switch off lightnings on the options menu because if not, all my outdoor machines are magically targeted by lightnings all the time. And its not funny to have to replace 4 or 5 rockets in a row. Unless they make some objects inmune to lightning, or make lightnings actually hit RANDOMLY and less often and not specific objects, i just cant play with it activated.

About freezing, happened to me once. I fixed it buying a thermostat and using the more heat switch even if it was autumn if i remember right.. it was the only way.

I think it's quite unreasonable to be thunder/ lightning weather for days on end in spring/ fall in for example Brindleton Bay. Like isn't it based on US Maine or something like that? Not a tropical country with that type of rainy seasons.

I think the lighting effect is cool and adds to the game but I can't stand the lightning making all my sims tense for days on end because I happen to play in Brindleton Bay in the spring or fall. And like you said breaking all things in sight... I've had a two week period (meaning sometimes full season of spring or fall) in game with nonstop thunder and lightning more often than not.

On topic, was the sim that was freezing in a room the others were not in? It might have a problem with the room/build then.
  • I landed on that the problem was caused by me playing rotationally. The freezing sim might have been freezing the last time he appeared on a lot I played, it might very well have been Winder, because I stop by each house only every 2nd year. It's had to even imagine what they might be up to while I'm not watching...

In this particular situation another household member was wearing her bikini, and not freezing at all. Which should suggest that their status was pre-individual rather than based on current environment. Which again makes the game pretty unlogical. I wish all that stuff would be based on current lot, and not on what they were up to "ages ago".

The Maine coast is kind of known for shitty weather tho.

But the same thing happens in Windeburg as well, and that world is based on Germany (among others), right? I don't know, I just think that type of weather should be more rare.

I'd prefer to have longer rainy seasons (with some lightning/thunder) in Sulani during the winter for example instead.
  • Freezing to death indoors is usually a bug, especially if it happens with winter clothing (they should just get uncomfortably cold). IIRC that bug has been around since the release of Seasons. Bienchen or LittleMissSam may have a bug fix mod for it.
