Future of The Sims 4?

Those questions have already been asked and answered. EA's response so far has been no.

There will be no ability to create custom worlds, no open worlds, and the customization in Cats & Dogs is probably about as good as it's ever going to get.

@SimGuruGrant was talking about custom worlds just this week on Twitter, and about talking in a meeting about them. So they may actually happen.

It is fairly clear that we won't get a more open world, I think, though.

Just that I couldn't find the tweets (but also didn't look for long). Clicking that link and reading through, you'll find them eventually.

It's clear that they use some kind of tool to create neighbourhoods, so they just need to prep it for external use and hand it over.

Along with the ability to edit worlds - or at least load templates, then every one is a winner. The whole idea of recreating backdrops and props is going to do people's heads in if it all has to be done from scratch.

It isn't out of the question, but it's a conversation we need to have to figure out.

They went from a no to we'll see. That's progress. It's very likely that EA had already come to the same conclusion that I did: if TS4 is going to have the longevity that they want, they've got to put more power into the hands of the players.

At that meeting, I hope that they think about this issue very hard.

On February 10th, so only a few months back, guruDrake said on Twitter: "There are no plans for a Create a World tool." So it's not far-fetched to wonder if there ever will be such a tool. I don't see people demanding, just wondering. Five days ago guruGrant has responded when someone directly asked: "It isn't out of the question, but it's a conversation we need to have to figure out." So things are opening up apparently. Promising and in fact a very good idea then to let them know people really want this. Support them to indeed start figuring it out so to speak. Through this forum for instance.

If no one ever spoke about the things they wanted to improve the game, we wouldn’t get those things. Case in point: toddlers. There’s nothing wrong with requesting things or even criticism
