Is anyone else experiencing their game not running well, like lag and freezes? I thought it was my particular game save so I copied the households and started a whole new game save with them (that was super tedious, BTW, along with fixing all the borked relationships). I didn't use the houses I suspected might be causing bug issues and I also repaired the game before I rebuilt that new save game. I'm just checking to see if it's a known game issue or if it's something on my end.

The game does sometimes run into performance issues, but I wouldn't conclude that it's completely the game until checking a few things. Having a large tray folder (library) can cause problems for one. Having more sims in your world than your hardware can handle, having sims or households with a lot of items in their inventories, and using mods or custom content can all affect performance. If it isn't any of that, try running a repair on the game. Of course, don't forget to check that your hardware meets requirements and that your drivers are updated.If this all fails to point you towards a solution, then yes, it's probably the game. I wish I could say whether or not I've been seeing the same thing, but I haven't been playing lately.

I'll have to hit the debug and dump the command queue. At one point I wondered if I was having a problem with cc hair on the one sim so changed it out to safe hair but it didn't fix the issue. The problems are significantly disruptive, more than they have ever been for me.

Custom content works in mysterious ways and it's possible, though unlikely, for it to impact performance simply by existing in your game. The only way to test it is to remove it from the folder (or remove the entire folder) completely.

The Library could be an issue. How do you copy that and store it somewhere else before you pare down the library stuff. It is a large save game but I haven't exceeded the sim count the game defaults to. My PC is pretty good (unless there'a hardware failure happening, which can happen).When I recreated the save game I did not add back the houses with the high inventory BUT the fact that there are many households in this game could be contributing to the problem.I'm not sure what constitutes 'a lot' of cc but that's also a possibility (but I didn't think I had tons).I'll look at the library save stuff first and then split the households into their own game saves and see if that is what's going on. How many files do you have in your mod folder?

The content of your library is stored in the "Tray" folder. You can just drag the existing one out to your desktop or wherever else you might want to store it, and the game will generate a clean one the next time you start it up. Or you could copy it somewhere else as backup and clean up the original from inside the game if you so prefer.

I'm going to remove all the cc from that particular artist/creator (4 or 5 hairstyles) because the issues began sometime around the time I added them into the mod folder. It could be a coincidence, or not, but I'll try int out first as the easiest solution. Low hanging fruit.

I'm not sure, they're all split off into subfolders.
ETA: Ok, there's tons. lol. I'll start removing the ones I think are suspect first as I can identify those pretty easily. Then I'll have to go through and play the ID the cc file one by one. *cries*

Since I bought the moschino stuff pack I've been experiencing lag again. It's becomes worse if I use a camera.
