Wanted to know, too. I like The Sims 4, never expected it to be better than titles before. it's just another fun video game. Have a question, not an a malicious way, why do some simmers want the same much? This is what I mean, I understand wanting some tasks back, cuddling E.T.C. But why want a recreation of old D.L.C. For The Sims 4? The same game over again is so boring... No arguments, I want to hear the other side.
I don't want the same, but I have an expectation that the next game in a series will have, at least, the basics of the previous game. We've had cars since the first game in this series. There has always been a carpool. Yet TS4 is a game without. I want cars because in a life sim, cars should be a standard. A lot of the things players want is because these are all things people do in life. It's supposed to be a game that mimics the basics of life. And when people are like...give me seasons...well, I don't know a place on earth that doesn't have weather so why wouldn't people want it? When people want generations...well, I don't know a person on earth that wasn't raised or tortured by someone so that's why they want that. And as we get some of the basics, people still want the things they found most fun about previous games back. That's why.
Yes, Sims 4 has an lot of things missing that some had the pleasure of playing with which was part of an giant tool chest. - Lonewolf1044Seasoned Spectator

@Scobre I actually occasionally watch Deli's build videos. If you are on twitter and don't share someone's opinion, the claws come out by a minority of people. I don't know what you mean by "positive people." Someone else on the forum mentioned she was trolled by the positive side because she made a criticism about the game--that was not the case. It wasn't the "positive people" who came for her. I remember when this happened and what kicked it off.Deligracy got trolled by these so called positive people all for having a different opinion telling Gurus to replace her with them.

To the Topic: I personally think that there are Simmers who dislike aspects of TS4 because it did not and does not live up to their personal expectations in regards to gameplay, challenges, and/or things they feel should have been included upon release and/or in various packs.
Exactly, referring to the last remarks on your post. "Goldmoldar;c-17856259" wrote:

That is why I question whether people are genuine in liking the game. Do they say it just to get a free game from game changers and wanting to be a gamer changer, or do they really like it? That is why it is so subjective how much someone likes a game or not like any form of art. I personally think it is 100% impossible to like everything Sims 4. JTB pack was a perfect example of this. Majority of the community did not like it including many die hard Sims fans. Life just isn't black and white and neither are opinions. It is like if Sims fans don't want their opinion to be assumed as fake, they shouldn't assume our opinion is fake either or 100% hate because it isn't. As someone who has been bullied both for liking the game and disliking it and realizing I'm just a Simmer not a true fan meaning in business terms you have to buy every product of the Sims ever made, I can accept that. I doubt majority of Simmers are true fans either and fall in the middle as well.- Lonewolf1044Seasoned Spectator

I agree. - I play my friend's copy and haven't spent any money on 4. And by "play," I build a huge house, move in a cute family, and that was my 2 hour monthly quota - I feel like my job is done at that point tbh
I play:
1 for the nostalgia and just pure love. So cute, so chaotic.
2 because it's the closest to perfect for my playstyle. If I had no needs or commitments IRL, I could play indefinitely.
3 because it sates my need for creativity and adventure.
To me, 4 didn't and still doesn't feel like a ~successful successor~ lol, and I know many people feel the same. I also know quite a few who believe Sims 4 fits their playstyle perfectly! And good for them, keep having fun!
But just as you are entitled to gush about how satisfied you are with Sims 4 as a product, others are entitled to wish it could be different. And no marketing, influencer, whatever kind of role can take away that entitlement from you or anyone else.
Pleasant Sims was well known for making videos talking about her distaste for Sims 4, and her sentiments were genuine. She chose to stop making those kinds of videos for her own benefit, not because it suddenly didn't get enough views. If anything, YouTubers who make negative content about Sims 4, whether it's sprinkled in like Plumbella or constant like Pleasant Sims, seem very genuine in their opinion. "hunniboo1;d-988714" wrote:
Why did you keep playing,? Or still buy the new packs?..
Just curious to know and im not actually asking in a malicious way I truly wants to know what keeps you buying and playing ?
Probably because the game has great potential. It's not because someone criticizes the game they don't love it. You see this also with other game communities were people are passioned about the game but give harsh criticism. This forum is even rather dull when it comes to emotional posting. Also you are on the internet. What you read is not always written like you read it. People that are very bad in English can seem very mad because they are confined to a limited vocabulary what makes their posts seem very offensive. You always learn the swear words of a language first as they are used the most often ;)- SheriSimSeasoned HotshotI don’t hate TS4 as I see many people say they do. I wouldn’t keep spending money on it if I did, snd I can’t say I’m sorry buying any of the packs I did. The game may not have my attention as much as the sims 2 did. But then there were less games out there that interested me then, and I had to share a computer with others. I still have hope for things I want to see, and there is still a lot I haven’t even explored that much in the game. I love the fact that I can play a game where I have the same save I did in 2014. I like multi-tasking. I love how easy it is to make people. I wish I knew a bit more about building, but there are so many great lots out on the gallery that I have fun just finding them. I still have hope for real babies, children being able to play tag and and other games together. I look forward to more things for children to do, but when I play a group of children they do seem to have fun on outdoor play items together. I’d love to see a colorwheel, but don’t actually expect it from this iteration. I’m waiting for a farming pack and generations. And yes, I do wish the game in some ways was more like TS2, some of those changes are probably not even possible. I play a vanilla game, and I do love that my sims can live in any world they want and still know their old friends in other worlds. I like that we can form clubs, I loved the active careers when they came out......that I wish had not been nerffed. The game would be a little more fun for me if they had more work places and objectives for the jobs like get to work did. But some people wanted more sandbox......I wouldn’t keep coming back to the game if I disliked it that much. Like someone else mentioned, there are somethings I don’t like and wish would change and keep hoping some of those things will change, and I think they can. They did a great job with toddlers, and I’m hoping they will with babies and cars too! We all feel different about what we want out of the game. And, like someone else mentioned, I wish they would fix those darn plants..... lol, but at the same time I liook with anticipation to the next pack..... lol!

Thanks for clearing that up. @LittleFox2 Yeah I don't understand the competition between Simmers. We should support each other even when making content. I appreciate the context of what happened. I tend to like to support the smaller streamers. DrGluon I have been watching for awhile even before he got into the game changer program. I like how uses the bugs in a creative way for storytelling. Takes skill to improvise on the fly like that. Calling Simmers yibsims was the worst thing to happen to the community and encouraged entitlement. But yeah that is how toxic positivity doesn't help the community. Everyone should have their content shared. Actually had a few people I know get out of the game changer program because of how they were treated by others in the program. Kind of nice legally I can never join the program so I never have to deal with it. Playtesting is nice getting to help the game without the attention which I enjoy a lot for all the games. Actually been quite impressed by how Apex has done for EA.
