Get Together Clubs: Popular/Infamous Perk

In the recent patch did they do something behind the scenes to change how the Popular or Infamous club perks work? For some reason whenever I have a club gather with either of those perks my sims in the club will start generating relationships with everybody on the lot. If it's a popular club I'll gain positive relationships and in an infamous club my sim will become enemies with everyone. This happens without having my sim interact with others.

I was curious if it was caused by a mod so I tried a test in my vanilla save file. I had a sim start a new club with the infamous perk. While I didn't notice them gaining negative relationships right away the moment I introduced them to another club member they became enemies not only with that sim, but with the rest of the club too. So weird.

Has anyone else noticed this in their game recently? This wasn't a problem for me back in September...iirc. I mean, it's not the worst bug/situation though it is getting a little tiring cleaning out my sim's relationship panel after each club meeting.

  • The feature has always been in clubs. I only use the infamous perk if I want a very particular set of sims to make enemies and not friends. While the opposite for sims I DO want to make friends. So just letting you know the feature has always been there! It took me by surprise when I first used it a long time ago. Buuuuut an infamous club shouldn’t become enemies with other clubs members within the same club. That seems like a bug.
  • I'm aware that these perks can boost relationship when introducing yourself to a sim, but everyone on the lot at the same time? That wasn't occuring in my game before.

It took a while to pinpoint what was causing my sims to suddenly have relationships with so many people. If a popular/infamous club autonomously gathers, with members that I'm not actively playing at that moment, those sims will appear in the relationship panel of the sim that I am currently playing despite not interacting with said club.

I also noticed recently that one of my sims who is not in any clubs, Summer Holiday, gains relationships regardless of having introduced herself to others or not. Only thing that singles her out from others is possessing the Beloved trait. Is the trait the cause? What's interesting too is that despite having all these new sims appear in the relationship panel my sim will not have officially met any of them (the situation where more options of dialogue become available after a friendly/rude/funny introduction).

Yeah, this shouldn't be happening. I'll need to run more tests with/without mods. :weary:
  • @HopeyStarr Do you use a mod to remove the relationships from the panel? Or is there a cheat for that? I have searched for a cheat before but could not find anything - I would love to be able to do this.
(Sorry I can’t give any insight on this thread but thank you for the heads up, I will avoid those club features)
  • I'll try and experiment with it. I don't think I've used that perk before but that seems awfully buggy if it builds relationship without any interaction.

    No worries.

I delete relationships through MCCC. Click on your sim. MC Command Center > Relationships > Delete Relationships. Then you can select from a list of sims that your sim knows and whom to delete.

Thanks! I wish there was an in-game cheat.
