So I saw Origin has a deal on the expansion packs right now. I already have Seasons but want more over time. With there being a deal, it seems like a good time to get another, however I can only afford one right now. I think I have it narrowed down to Get Together or City Living, and I wanted to know which EP you all think is better.It would probably help if you knew my play style / preferences. I usually play with large families. With having Seasons, I also like worlds that get a good amount of snow in Winter (my current family is in Willow Creek). I would also appreciate an EP that offered more nice build options, for example I hate how in the base game there are only two marble flooring options and very few front doors that aren't white ( I actually think overall Sims 3 had better build options, but I digress). I think I am leaning toward Get Together just for the fact that Windenburg looks visually stunning and it seems like more of a family place. I would guess there are fewer house / large lot options in City Living because it seems like there is more of an emphasis on apartment living in that game (which isn't really appealing with a family of 6-8 compared to a huge house). However if there are lots of cool things to do in City Living that may sway my opinion a little.Your feedback is much appreciated!!!!

I like both. In CL there are no empty lots. For a big family you can (if they can afford it) build a penthouse. Also : you can only build penthouses, not apartments, you can modify the inside of the appartements but not their shape or the building. I like the city though, and the festivals. I also like that it brought more diversity in my game. Now Get together. It brings the club system, which allows you to have sims so activities together, you can get very creative with it.Then Windenburg is beautiful and it has a lot of snow in the winter. It also has a night club, a public pool, pubs and coffee shops. There’s a lot of build mode content, but mostly It’s for more ancient European like buildings (like the ones in Windenburg).So gameplay wise I’d say Get together adds more. But I really like the diversity City living adds.

Get Together. You are a family player so clubs will or could help expand your gameplay. It is a beautiful world with larger areas than you have with the base game. I would say you get about as much stuff either way.. maybe a tad more with CL so that would be good to compare.I personally have more bugs with CL... it helps if you get them to zone in and out of areas more often to reset. Festivals right now have problems with Weather... like if you go to Geek Con and it's raining electronics will break. I think there are some other common issues but I don't live there enough to experience them. Apartments to me are claustrophobic but that is pure opinion and taste I guess. I would get CL no matter what to fill out the object/gameplay but if I had to chose only one it would be GT.

You get so much stuff that´s soooo lovely :) Like a new city, a lot of new windows and doors that are sooo beautiful. And so many other items. It is so worth it :)

GT gets my vote if you like playing with families. Apartments in CL can end up cramped if you play with larger households. And it's hard to beat the club system, which can give you in-game control over townies as well as your own Sims if you really want to get into it. I've made Sims and builds based around the club system, lol.CL is good if you're playing single Sims or couples, or you like to take your Sims out on the town a lot. It's by no means a bad pack, and you probably wouldn't regret having it. But I just feel like you'd get more out of GT if you can only get one or the other. There are some nice wood floors in CL (due to being used as basketball courts) though. CL offers a few interactive careers as well that might interest you. Politician, Social Media, and something else I can't remember off the top of my head.

Get Together or City Living? (Opinions Wanted)

I would have to say city living, because, although I have Get Together, I don't have any sims living in Windenburg and I only go to the community lots. The only thing I use from the pack is the hair and clothes (which are really great). The objects aren't really my style and I don't use clubs. But, I do like the townies. I tend to use them as possible spouses to my sims.

Now City Living is one of my favorites, although I might be bias because I got it on sale for $15! I love apartments and the overall theme of the city. I also have a soft spot for the pack because, without it, my legacy sim never would have met Salim Benali, her current husband (who makes very good-looking children). I also really enjoy the festivals. The CAS items are pretty good and I use quite a bit of them. I like the modern build and buy items as well. So overall, I prefer city living because it adds more to MY game, although it might be different for everyone.

I love City Living, but I'm not sure it is a real Family type of world per se, but can certainly be used by anyone. Love the environment in that city. They have some very cheap "used" furniture that is perfect for anyone not using the money cheat, you can get your lot furnished pretty quickly.

I do have get together and never really used it or the clubs at all till I saw TheSimsSupply do a rags to riches challenge in that world and he made it looks so fun, lol, the world is beautiful

If I had to pick one it would be City Living, some reason I really love that one!

If you can, buy both. GT is my personal favorite, but I enjoy living in the city for the feel the same as I do with GT. :)

Get Together. I love the clubs and the world is beautiful. It has some of my favourite community lots too.

It think GT will suit your playstyle a lot better, although I personally also love CL and use it a lot.

I'd go with GT first, then get CL at the next sale (there'll probably be Black Friday sales next month). The club system might be one of the best features in any Sims game, and the pack is way more than a "party pack". Once you have GT, every pack expands options for the club system; when you get CL down the road you'll be able to add features like Play Basketball or Sing Karaoke to your club activities (or banned activities) and who knows what will be added down the road?

Windenburg is also a beautiful world, with a nice mix of modern and old style architecture, and feels larger than the other worlds for some reason; the pack adds a lot more in terms of build mode than does CL so if you like building/remodeling this is the perfect pack.

I do like CL -- the semi-active careers, tons of new recipes to learn, karaoke, basketball just to name a few features. I'm okay with no buildable apartments because you can remodel the interiors as much as you want. But I think you'll get a lot more bang for your buck with GT.

I forgot the GT's Windenburg gives the largest lots in the game, so if you have a big family and want a big house, that's the way to go. :)

Edit: Glad to see you got GT -- I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The varied lot sizes makes it really expandable -- I added a small karaoke club, for example, which works well with the general vibe of the town, and I didn't feel like I needed two nightclubs in one town so I converted one to a lounge.

Personally, I think Get Together. I recently got it and I think it’s so much better than City Living (and there are a lot of brown doors :wink: ) plus clubs and all the new lots.

GT, great clothing and beautiful world. I’m currently playing CL and I’ve been having a glitch where my neighbors just walk right into my home even though they aren’t invited and do not have the key.
