I think it comes down to making sure homework is done before each class, revising papers and presentations until they are excellent quality before turning them in, always attending class on time (either taking notes or actively listening) for the entire time. You can study either on a computer or book if you want to boost the grade. You can also go to your teacher's office hours which will give you a clue to where you stand.
