Graduated sim not getting a head start in career

My sim struggled in university, was on probation and even got suspended for a term. Yet she persevered and graduated with a B grade.
However after graduating and receiving her degree, she applied for the education career and got a level 1 job. She was supposed to he hired at a higher level. I tried it three times and the same thing happened.
Any suggestions?. After all that hard work, she deserves better!.

There is no such option. As far as I remember, your sim automatically gets a level 3 or 4 job automatically when they apply.
  • @Nh6650 You are correct in that your Sim should start with a higher level. My Sim graduated & started Education career at level 6 or 7.

However, in another Save, my Sim graduated and started at a lower level. By any chance does your Sim have the Connections trait? I'm wondering if that trait may be causing the issue since that gives your Sims a slight career boost as well.

My Sim that graduated and entered a career at high level successfully didn't have this trait.....my other Sim who graduated and started at lower level, had this trait. Not sure if there is any connection to that, but strange that it worked as intended for one of my Sims and not the other....as you say....Uni is rough...to put in the effort and not the get the reward is frustrating. Perhaps, cheat her career level to the intended level? Technically isn't not cheating, since she should have started higher - but I get your point it's definitely not working as intended.

I have had a sim graduate last night in Biology and she entered the medical career directly on the 8th level.

    She doesn't have that trait.
You are right, it is very frustrating indeed.
How do I cheat the career level?.
  • You're not supposed to pick the default Education career from the job list, but the name of the branch that your sim got a degree for. For example, if they studied psychology to become a professor, there should be a new entry in the job list called "Professor". Look for and click that, not "Education".

Thank you so much!. I didn't realize there was such an option. She got in at level 6. Thanks again.
