  • Who knew that when Atari came out with the tv game "Pong" in the early 1970's (my brother and I played that game for endless hours) this electronic gaming thing would turn into a multi-billion dollar industry?

It wasn't until the mid 1980's when I could save up enough money to get my first Atari console gaming system (after the Pong fad died off). Asteroids and Space Invaders were my top fave games to play. I was hooked.

Then I got my first computer in 1989 and soon after added dial-up internet access (it was a very pricey addition to your monthly phone bill back then), just so I could join my cousin and a bunch of our friends in the Dungeons and Dragons online MUDs gaming frenzy that was growing more and more popular with anyone who could afford to buy a home computer.

    Ahhh nostalgia.....

And the rest, as they say, is history.
  • To you both as well. Didn't know there was such a thing. Have too much going on to be lost without simmies, but there are days when they are just the thing for unwinding after a crazy day.
  • I spent most of my day driving my virtual Freightliner Cascadia around the American West while listening to audiobooks. Been a gamer since my mom gave five-year-old me a couple of quarters and pointed me at a Pac-Man machine while she settled the bill at a Chinese restaurant and got my first home console, an NES, for Christmas 1988.

But what really made sure I'd be a gamer for life was getting a good quality gaming PC in 2003, just in time for one of the best years in PC gaming history in '04. My last console was a PS2 and I've been PC-only ever since.

And, of course, one of those 2004 classics was Sims 2...
