I've only been playing for three weeks, but I noticed that if I have two good looking sims have a child it's normally pretty unattractive or average. I know in TS2 and 3 I had some really stunning sims born in game. It's annoying because I don't like editing them. Anyone else had that problem?

I have seen people have some great looking sims born in game. I have had several great looking couples produce very mediocre looking sims though :( I have not had success in having a child grow up into a beautiful adult.

Mine turned out cute, especially their teen daughter. She's beautiful IMO. The children my Sim had with Don L? HIDEOUS! They looked like men in drag. I don't guess I've had this problem because I'm not looking for handsome/gorgeous. I'm looking for Sims who carry on family resemblance. Some are better looking than others. I haven't had any I considered ugly. Average is fine by me. One thing I've noticed is that what the child looks like is often not a good reflection of what the teen/YA/A will look like. My legacy family sports a prominent nose, and you can never tell from the child stage whether or not they'll get the nose.

Probably because Sims 4 wasn't initially designed for generational play.

Not particularly bad looking, not particularly good looking either imo.
But to be honest I feel that way about all sims in the game. They're alright but nothing more than that.

Am I a bad person to admit that the first sim kid I had born in game was so blah I thought about making something bad happen to her :( but she ended up growing on me and she was such a riot :) she ended up being one of my favorites.

I don't have pictures, but I made a male Sim, and he ended up getting with Dina Caliente. They had a daughter who had different aspects from both of them. She was a cute child... but when she aged up into teenager... she was suddenly FAT. And I mean FAAAAAAAT. But I don't understand why. She played on the playground... sure she didn't really level up motor, but I didn't have time for all of that. lol. Anyways, it didn't bother me too much. I just had her work out, and she started slimming down right away, but I think I might keep her to always be a bit more large. Why not? Not everybody is skinny, and I kind of like that. I'm not a skinny guy in real life myself, so I'm perfectly fine with it! Just thought it was odd that she went from being a small child into a really large teenager. Haha.

I think "Failure" Grant is actually very pretty, I'm glad she was given the chance to live.

Here are Don's children with my Sim who was a space ranger. I had no intention of putting them together, but he was stalking her and I figured I'd see what all the fuss was about him.

It's nuts isn't it? Your sim is gorgeous and Don is a looker and then their kids are just..eh... ok :(

Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder but this is my favorite sim as a teen. Born to a sim I created and a townie. I think Kyra is the most gorgeous sim I've had in my game. Maybe cause I favor her so much. Lol.

Oh and this little spit fire was born in my game too. Mom is Nina and dad is Don. I've seen a lot of good looking kids get born in the game. I don't have much for pics though.

I totally don't mean this as an insult to anyone but this thread really shows that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It's interesting to see the differences in what each of us considers beautiful and what we consider just, ok or nice.
