Has anyone successfully done a house call for the Doctor Career?

Is this a bug or did I do something wrong? I got a prompt to go on a house call and it said to click on the front desk to take the assignment. I saw a red heart icon on the front desk and so I clicked the desk. It said the call would transport my sim to another lot and I clicked the "OK" dialog box. Then, I waited, and waited, and waited, while my sim just stood there in the hospital hallway. Nothing happened. Eventually, my sim walked over to a co-worker to chat. Eventually, I got a dialog box saying my patient waited and no one showed up, so they went to another hospital. WTH!?

Edit: Got a 2nd house call, same thing, nothing happened after I clicked the "OK" dialog box to go on the house call. My question now is, has anyone successfully gone on a house call?

2nd Edit: Got another house call, safe shift. I can see the action to go on the house call immediately drops out of the queue after clicking "OK". I guess Its gotta be a bug. Again, has anyone been successful in going on a house call? Is it possible the mine fails, because there are no other sims occupying any lots in either of my neighborhoods since the update?

I've done it successfully as well, just have to have a game plan. The pause button has become my good friend. I'll pause the game, locate the patients and queue up the tasks then un-pause.

Also I realized that house calls are for sims that does not actually live in that house.. very weird.

It's been a while since I played the doctor career, but I once went to the Windenburg Library and treated 3 patients at the library. That was kind of funny. I imagined the library staff called 911 or something. LOL
  • I did my sim had to go treat a guy in willow creek park that had bloaty head. He was the same sim that treated at the hospital for the same thing that day.
  • I've had two successful house calls. Thought one patient had run off at one point because I couldn't find him inside and apparently the "Call Over' interaction timed out or something because he'd gotten pretty far from where my doctor was. Then I saw him outside talking with a non-patient sim and sent my doctor to him, which finally interrupted the conversation so she could treat him.
  • I didn't even know you could do house calls. That is even better since I just hear how people don't like the doctor career and day it's to hard but I love it! My co worker the nurse does get in my way when she just goes in to talk to the patient and then I can't help them! Other then that I love my job so far I just wish I knew how to extend the work day xD.
  • I had one house call and it went without a hitch.

Finally got my doctor to the top of the career. Such a frustrating experience though - they keep bringing Sims back from imaging to occupied beds and stand there for 30 minutes, only to take the Sim to... another occupied bed. GAH. Then you can never get a guaranteed diagnostic on kids - seriously. Even my chief of staff typically can't figure it out. So annoying.

So now she can go to work and I can focus on the toddlers at home.
