Has the frequency of fires gone up since the update?

My current save has had so many fires since the last update. I don't know if its coincidence or what. Especially with the campfire. Pretty much catches chairs or whatever my sim is cooking on fire every time, and her cooking skill is quite high. Her guitar even caught fire when she was singing around the camp fire.

Is it just me or is this happening more frequently since they added firefighters?

Also, I thought there used to be a trait you could get with aspiration points where your sim was like fireproof, or their house was fireproof, am I imagining that? Or was it in the Sims 3 or something?

Anyway I am playing an off the grid style home right now and it sure is annoying to have so many fires. Just thought I would see if others were experiencing the same issue. Thanks guys!

I was playing on a lot in the new world, Evergreen Harbor, and I was aware of the fact that there was the possibility of fire in a toilet while a Sim used the facilities. I was NOT aware of the fact that a Sim could CATCH ON FIRE while using the toilet. Yes it happened, but sadly I wasn't recording at the time, so I don't exactly have proof. B)

So I know the burning pee is a thing, but is this an actual bug, or part of a filthy neighborhood as a nod towards fracking making water flammable?

I've had two Christmas trees burst into flame after lighting them since the patch went live, and that used to happen pretty rarely.

Yeah that never happened to me before and trust me, I've done a lot of game play with those, lol. Since I'm playing an off the grid rags to riches type game right now it's not an issue, we can't afford a christmas tree, lol!

My Sim’s generators catch on fire every 2 days like clockwork. The worst is when my Sim leaves for work and then it catches on fire, and I have to helplessly watch all of their possessions go up in flames.

Good to know. You know you can leave work early though and come home for stuff like that, right? It will give your work performance a hit but might be worth it when your house is on fire.

Hmm... I've used the campfire, fire pit, fireplace, candles, and stove and I haven't had any fires yet...or maybe I'm just lucky *knocks on wood which is not on fire, yet*
  • I only had the one fire at the very beginning of playing my new save file. No other fires the rest of the weekend while I was playing. Then again my family only have a stove/oven - nothing else could set a fire in the house.

No such luck. I've tried to set fires constantly, and nothing's happened. Tried candles and fireworks and nothing happened. Yet, before that, I had computers in offices spontaneously combust.

I thought about it but he needed that promotion to afford the repairs lol. Luckily only one corner of his lot got burned. Unfortunately, it was the corner that had all of his crafting stuff. After that I went and got him one of those auto sprinklers for next time.

Fire alarms work too, they'll notify the fire department

Fires are definitely increased. I think I've seen 4 or 5 so far, started in different ways.
