- You can't choose whether it's a boy or a girl but after the baby grows up into a child you can change the gender by entering the "testing cheats true" and then the "cas.fulleditmode" cheats into the cheat box (by pressing ctrl+shift+c) and then click on the child while pressing down shift and then you can modify them in create a sim and change their gender from there!

Is it possible to force a baby girl or a baby boy in the Sims 4? Or is it possible to change the sex by exiting to the main menu until you get what you want?
I don't think it's possible, but there is a mod/cheat to change genders.- thatsme_everSeasoned NoviceThere is the Pregnancy Mega Mod, with which you can choose the number and the gender of babies, other than that I don't think there is another way to determine the outcome of the births.
- I got a mod for that.

i have read recently (within the last week) that the game decides the gender of the baby based on the sims in town to make it "even" so, if your game as more girls than boys, your sims will have more boys to make up for the difference.
not sure if that is 100% true though. just what i read
That's the TS3 system.
With the way that the NPC-generation works in ts4, this system is pointless. In TS3, only the homeless and service-Sims were culled and the world-Sims determined the outcome of the gender of the kids born. That even overrode gender-influencers, even if your Sim killed herself eating watermelon (hyperbole), if there were more women then men in the world, your Sim woud get a boy regardless.
In the ts4, the unplayed Sims are subject to being culled by a system that wears a blindfold. That makes using the existing Sims as a controlgroup for gender-determination quite useless, as gender-saturation fluctuates from day to day almost.- egwarhammerNew SpectatorI haven't seen anybody mention this... at child (or older) level, without cheating, you can take the family into CAS and either twin the existing kid off and modify the new one, OR you can Play With Genetics for an entirely new second child.
Either way, the new family member is completely editable, unlike the "already played" ones.
I don't like cas.fulleditmode. It has its uses, but this is how I avoid it. - I had two sims and they were lesbians I wanted to have a baby so I downloaded a mod for gay woohoo and then after they both got pregnant so there not twins but sisters
- Has anyone tested out the yellow crib yet? Im going to use the green like the other user said and see if I will get twins like they did.

That isn't true and has never been in the game as far as I know. Strawberries / pop music for girls, carrots / alternative music for boys. Don't think there is a way to guarantee twins but there is a bug where almost every birth (at least in my game ) are twins.- egwarhammerNew Spectator

MC Command Center has this, also... and a bunch of other options, via modules. ^^Pregnancy (duh, right? LOL) Other parts are Population, Cleaner, Dresser, and Careers. (Deaderpool added some stuff to Careers in 1.0.7)
You can choose which ones to install. It's an amazing mod!!
