HELP A My Wedding Stories Question

I set up the wedding but most of the things called for were blank. No Sims showed in the panels from which I may select an Honored Guest, for instance. Also, no Sim showed up for Officiant. But I was able to invite guests. Now, I'm in a bit of a quandary. I ended up adding a Sim, to whom I have referred in a few of my posted story updates on this sight. While my Sim interacted with this Sim, the option to invite to be Officiant appeared, so I clicked on it. Now, I'm wondering if he will show up and be the Officiant at the already planned event, or if I should trash the event and create it anew? This is my very first experience with MWS, so I'm very green. ;)

Please, and thank you, in advance.

I just held a wedding and my officiate showed up. I couldn’t get the people who were part of the wedding to walk down the aisle. They finally did after I reset them with MCCC. The cake spoiled before they could cut it because the wedding started at 1pm but it took till 5pm for all the guests to arrive. I used MCCC again to make the cake unspoiled. Most everyone stayed seated in the wedding aisle seating the entire wedding. It was a mess but still funner than the original weddings. If they can get it working properly it will be one of the best things added to the game. Also the outfits the game chose for my guests were just as bad as game generated townies.
  • @TeeSea, one thing I do when I have events (and always have) is have my active sims travel to the lot right before it starts and select a bunch of the invited unplayed sims with the travel action. If you do it literally right before the event starts, you have a ton of your guests there as soon as it begins without having to wait.

Just a suggestion to help with that wait time in the future. It has always worked well for me.
  • Wow, that's great @Stormkeep I had to wait on the Bride's family. Next time, I guess I'll just have each of the playable members 'beam' over and have the Groom bring along the others. What I ended up doing was call to have them hang-out at the lot. That worked for some, but I was also informed so-and-so was already there. :open_mouth: The Officiant was late, along with his son who was the intended Ring Bearer. In fact on my third run-thru, the Officiant stayed seated in a chair at the back. Face/palm. Not my ideal. But, I just played through from there and the reception turned out pretty good, on the whole. I fought the notion to go back and replay it. See? I'm getting better. Hi, my name is GalacticGal and I am the Queen of Restarts…

Clicking on the runner will allow you to have your Guest Be Seated interaction. I placed a portable laptop in my Groom's inventory so he could purchase the cake soon after he got to the venue. Wedding was set for 11 AM, but the guests really took their time strolling in. As a result, while the first run-thru was a complete disaster (I couldn't find the interaction for the guests to sit down, nor did I realize it was on the runner at that time) the Officiant did his thing. But the Groom's mother was too busy trying to be noticed. (She's a Proper Celebrity, in her own right.) At one point she got between the priest and the couple. Suffice it to say it took so very long the cakes spoiled. That's when I realized and hatched the plan to have my groom come prepared with the laptop. Round two went okay. Both times I exited without saving. Third time, I was able to get the guests seated, but for some strange reason the Officiant also was seated. He never came forward! I just proceeded without him. The reception went well, the cakes were unspoiled, there were toasts, dancing, eating and all. At the end I was totally exhausted as if I had taken physical part in the Event. LOL

I really do like the possibilities this pack adds to the game! I'm right there with you on it.
