I have seen several threads wherein people have complaints about what's going on in restaurants. Up until after yesterday's patch, I wasn't having these incidents. But it was Love Day in my game, and I had Erik invite Kayleigh out on a date. They get to the restaurant of choice, but instead of her going first to sit at the table, (as it's always worked in my game) he found the table. I had to click on it several times to get her to 'sit together'. She wouldn't stay planted, however. It was horribly disrupted, they ended up with a not-so-great date as a result. These two generally have Legendary dates, but not yesterday. He even grabbed his food and sat down at another table (one of those ones we got with Snowy Escape) which surprised me. Normally at restaurants we get a notice that's not their table. But he was able to place his plate there and then slide underneath it. She finally joined him, grabbing her own plate, in passing, but instead of across from him, she took a seat at the other end of the table. What is up with that? Has anyone else had anything close to this going on since the patch dropped? Just thought I would check before I pull my mods again.Please, and thank you, in advance.

Welcome to the world of Dine Out problems, I have been having issues for a long time now and they get worse with every new patch or pack that comes out. It must be a on going joke at EA/Maxis not to fix Dine Out. The other day I sent my Sims out to a little place I made in Sulani and the Waiter left to go diving then came back and served our food in his Scuba gear. There was also a lady who kept getting glass after glass of water from the bathroom and putting them on our table. Odd people sat down at our table started talking to us, and my Sims almost starved by the time I got them to eat. That was before the patch yesterday. Now I am really afraid to return.

I know, it's really horrible. 100% of restaurant visit I need to reset the chef in order for him to actually step in the restaurant and do what he is payed for. The guests won't stay seated because they, for some unknown reason, have the urge to put away the dishes. But that is what the waiters are for. Why aren't they doing their job? Why do people eat out? So they don't have to cook and clean up afterwards, no?Other thing is sims always cancel eating their meal once they finished their drink. I hate wasting food and money. Unfortunatelly, DO is really broken.

Interesting--I too have typically had decent experiences at my restaurants and they've started to act up a bit more too. Waiters taking a REALLY long time to deliver dishes.

I have to say that I'm currently revisiting this situation. I just had Erik's next younger brother, Joey, ask his would be girlfriend out to breakfast. It's Saturday morning. I took them to Millie's Café. So far, so good. She led the way to their table and has stayed seated! I will test another restaurant I have in my game, but it's starting to look as if that new downloaded restaurant is the problem. Sadness. I may just have to attempt to replicate the Dragon House in the city I used to live in. This place was a four or five-star restaurant with a nice wall of newspaper articles and pictures of celebrities who have dined there. I miss that place and haven't yet found a Chinese Restaurant where I live now, that even holds a candle to this place. Ho-hum.

Some have suggested part of the problem you describe has everything to do with the oversized table dressing. Flower/candles, etc. This can prevent the server from being able to deliver the food. Same as when dirty dishes get left on your Sim's table from another Sims' table. The slots can't handle it. I made certain I removed what was clearly over-sized in this new restaurant. I placed a smaller vase of Asian-type flowers, instead. I'll try another restaurant I didn't build, too. Then go back to this Dragon House to see if it is this new lot.

Restaurant dates may become extra messy if one of the participants is a student. In this case, the stalker(s) come with him and are an (often unnoticed) part of the group. They may sit down at another table and cause confusion.

Stalkers? LOL These two are in high school, not Uni. Not yet anyway. But thanks for the heads up. I had no idea.

The only times I have had any trouble has been at one particular restaurant. It's the Villa Bovine which came in the Dining Out pack. I don't know if it's just coincidence, but my Sims seem to never have a good experience there.

Hm, I've had that pack since release and yet the name eludes me. I know we got the Chez Llama. Perhaps, I missed it somehow?
