I agree that Laundry Lists are pointless and illusory, but Maxis doesn't need to give us any more raunchy videos and it's not a massive problem, that would more likely make it far worse in fact, as demonstrated previously when SimGuruLyndsay tried to communicate.
At this point I frankly don't even know what kind of communication, you OP, would even want. They won't and can't announce packs in advance and if it's about bugs, I can't imagine how they'd explain debugging an almost 7 year old game made in python to a bunch of people who barely know how to type on twitter.
What TS4 needs is either a bigger team dedicated to quality control and debugging or that it's packs are given more time to be better developed and integrated with other packs. But as stated previously, we are looking at an almost 7 year old game....would that make sense at this point? I guess it really depends how much more time EA is willing to have TS4 on life support, it obviously gives them A LOT of profit. Though they need to fund other games like ME:4, DA:4 etc.
Completely agree, but it doesn't look like we are getting that with the sims4 sadly.
As for communication, I wouldn't mind if their community manager could have a bit more of a video presence, or if they could have a bunch of people giving updates. I do like it when they do livestreams and the developers talk about the game. I understand that they can't do it all the time though. They probably stopped doing Maxis Monthly because they ran out of things to talk about.
It does feel like they are leaving a lot up to the gamechangers though.
