Honest opinions about Sims 4.

I guess the best word to describe it is frustrating. It's always something all the time. Now some aspects of the acting career isn't working correctly. I didn't add anything for a while and it was working before. They can't invite costars over or research anger. The help forum place is a nightmare, there is no point in even going there.

With all the packs the game is just an endless stream of joy for me, except when I come across one of the many bugs in the game. I love the game as it is now, but if you're going to get the game, get it knowing that you will encounter bugs as you play. Bugs aside, yes I do genuinely enjoy this game and believe it gets better with every pack, Get Famous has dethroned City Living as my favourite Expansion Pack. Ever since I installed Get Famous I find my experience with the game so much more complete and wholesome, the pack filled in a huge gap for me and my play style, especially with the reputation system, it really is a game changer even outside of its own pack. My one sim is a vet and has a good reputation just because she treats pets well at her vet.

So far each expansion pack has added something big and useful for my game,
- Get to Work added retail businesses, so now I have retail shops around my worlds so my sims can go shopping for a variety of things.
- Get Together added the club system and now my worlds and game play feel more alive and unique.
- City Living added lot traits, a feature I believe to be underrated honestly, lot traits are so useful for so many things!
- Cats and Dogs added cats and dogs (duh)
- Seasons has the Calendar and the ability to make custom holidays
- Get Famous has the reputation system

The above listed features combined completely change my game, and that's just a fraction of the stuff you get in the packs. There's so much to do and experience in Sims 4 as of now, and there's a lot more to come, which excites me a whole lot. So in general, yes, I would recommend the game, even if it's just the base game, I recently purchased the base game on my PS4 since it was on special, and there's still quite a bit to play around with, not as empty as I was expecting if I'm honest.

It could be a pretty good and entertaining game... if only it wasn't so rife with glitches.

I like 2 and 4. Sims 2 is my personal favorite and also my first sims game. Even though 4 does so many thing better than 2, the sims in 2 feel more alive and have more depth. My biggest criticism for 4 is nothing you do really matters, the socalled emotions do not work well or have any significant impact on gameplay, sims are only affected temporarily by what happens in the game, making most interactions feel really shallow and pointless. I really miss the memory system and detailed animation of sims in 2. I went back to play sims 2 again recently, and it blew my mind that the sims actually open drawers and stuff.

If the sale is still going on with the 30% on origin base game is just $7 and you can't go wrong with that. Last day today I think? :)

I really enjoyed what was on offer when I first got the game and had a lot of fun with it but the price at the time definitely wasn't worth it. Now? The game has improved a lot. Base game alone can be a lot more entertaining than it was 4 years ago between that and patches as well as all the nice freebies we've gotten in terms of clothing, furniture, careers and other items.

I enjoy seeing my Sims able to go to actual lots and places much like Sims and the Sims 2. I can get lost in this game a lot nowadays for hours. Sims 2 is a fave of mine out of the whole series and it reminds me a bit of that but it's still it's own thing.

The game to me has been improving a lot and I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future.

It's a good game, not quite where S2 was, but definitely better than 3. And it's far easier than 1 lol.

If you can pick up the base game on Origin for less than $10......DO IT!

When I first got the game, I really enjoyed CAS, multi-tasking, the graphics, faster loading times and etc but missed the charm and details of Sims 2 and the open world/color options of Sims 3 (but not the lag).

With all of the free updates and DLC so far I say it's very worth it! In my opinion, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, and Get Together (club system) really livened up the game a lot. City Living added cultural diversity and a new way to play with apartments/rent. Get to Work has its charms, though it's not my favorite. The retail system is interesting but flawed. I haven't played much of Get Famous yet but it seems to be another one that livens the game a bit, especially if you want to explore the acting career.

As far as gamepacks, they all have been worth it in my opinion--particularly Vampires, Parenthood (adds a lot to the game) and Jungle Adventure (with the new self employed career you can literally be a treasure hunter/archaeologist like Lara Croft haha). Stuff packs are a bit more hit and miss, but they have gotten better with each rendition for the most part. My favorites of those would be Laundry Day (the items/CAS), Movie Hangout, Backyard Stuff, and Kids/Toddler packs if you like families.

The new first person mode--if you can handle the view without getting sick--is a refreshing take on the world and allows you to see your sims and worlds in a new perspective. It's especially great if you've built/decorated your house from scratch!

I hope that this helps. There are a lot of items/ideas from The Sims 3 that I miss, but I think they'll be implemented in The Sims 4. I do like that this time around The Sims 4 is alternating between "classics" like Pets, Seasons etc with a fun twist and introducing completely new concepts. It's great and all to one day get University and occult sims back, but having new ideas is unpredictable and exciting!

I can’t help but agree with this.

It also depends if you have played any sims games previously. I think the game is just okay. It has improved in many areas but in many ways it’s a step backwards not forwards.

It started off pretty well for me but after more and more patches and packs, the game is just becoming so frustrating. I can't play it without getting mad about the stutters and 1000 bugs. D:

It gets better with every pack but the base game could be a lot better. I think everything just needs a little more depth and then it will be outstanding.
