Hotfix release?

Anyone know how long this issue will take to fix? It’s destroyed my saves and I can’t rebuild until the ageing problem is sorted

They have told us "These things are complicated" and not given an ETA for the fixes.
  • No one knows how long. Just turn aging off until it is fixed. Hot fixes normally don't take too long.
The sims game is very very complex. It's perfectly understandable why they can give an ETA. And if for some reason they cannot fix it in the promised time simmers will go crazy(Er).
It's nearly impossible for patches not to bring a few bugs and thats to be expected. They are committed to fixing them whenever they can and that's all that matters. ? it's just a game (a complex one at that) I feel like people always blow these things way out of proportion. No dev "wants" bugs. And I'm not talking about you OP, I'm just referring to the really immature way the sims community overall handles problems. I've seen a lot of very unnecessary anger over something that will be handled. ?
As humans we should learn to overcome our anger all together but if we "must" get angry I just feel like there are better thing to be angry about.?

And once again I'm not getting on you or anything OP.
  • Actually the best thing people can do right now is have patience. And if one feels impatient and anxious about it now is the perfect time to practice inner patience. We need to support the Devs and let them know that it's okay and they don't need to feel pressured or stressed. We are patiently waiting?

@Babykittyjade, I respectfully disagree. It's not unreasonable to expect a software developer to test changes to code before releasing it live. It is, in fact, a basic component of any software development lifecycle (says someone who works professionally with a software development team). It's therefore not unreasonable, after spending a sum of money on a product, for consumers to be angry when a software developer fails to perform this very basic part of their bloody job and substantially breaks the product as a result of that failure.

Significant errors in product functionality are not "to be expected" and should never go without response from a customer.

I’m sure they’re already feeling stressed and pressured; they’re also releasing a huge dlc today. I’d like an eta myself, but I’d much rather not have one than get one that turns out to be wrong for whatever reason. They have said this is a top priority and I do trust them on that. I get as annoyed as anyone about bugs that take ages to fix but they know the difference between “annoying bug” and “game breaking bug.”

  • Sounding stupid but is there a routine time of release? I know there’s no confirmation yet but in general with hot fixes are there assumed drop times to expect them even if the day is random
