How big is a Sims 4 tile compared to a Sims 2 tile?

Ok, so, I wanted to turn Oasis Springs into an approximation of Strangetown in Sims 2, since I love playing with the Curious family and Nervous Subject and such, but the computer I use to play Sims 2 crashes a lot and I can't download the game on my main computer due to it being a Mac. So until I'm able to somehow get a new computer to play Sims 2 on, I'm either stuck with it crashing, or I can try to recreate the experience in Sims 4 (plus it'd give me a chance to exercise my brain in attempting to recreate everything as close as I can.)

But when I was trying to recreate the Curious family's house in Sims 4 (I don't want to use any of the ones on the Gallery because I want it to be all base game stuff (or as close to all base game as possible) as a challenge and so others can play the lots when I upload them to the Gallery without needing to download packs), I noticed that the tile number in a 40x30 lot between the two games doesn't seem to actually match up. When I try to recreate it at a 1:1 scale, I end up with a lot of empty space that's not there in the Sims 2 version of the lot.

So, my question is: how many Sims 4 tiles does it take to match up with one Sims 2 tile?

  • Update: Turns out, I just had the lot oriented the wrong way... OOPS!! xDDD User error!!
  • Still, an honest question. I tile = 9 square feet or 3 feet per side. Got that from TS1, and I doubt it has changed since. Makes sense as a TS4 adult sim lying on the ground is 2 tiles long. I've heard the gurus say a tile is a square meter, but at ~39 inches a side, that makes adult sims 6 feet 6 inches tall, which is quite uncommon IRL, and quite out of scale in game.
