So I made a teenage sim. She lived by herself, but she did ok. She got a B and got a promotion on her part time job. After about 3 weeks She come home from school embarrassed. I figured I have her write in her diary about it as that was her want, and boom she was dead and I had a gravestone instead :( She was not starving or anything, all bars was in the green. No notification of what she died off either. Can I get her back? And how can I prevent this from happening again? I know you can die from a lot of things in the sims, but I didn't think you can die from beeing embarresed, especially after when you're home alone.

Do you have an older save file that you have her on, is she saved to your library? As for the emotional death, I have them disabled in MC Command Center. Love that mod!

Emotional deaths may seem random, but so are deaths IRL in most cases. And I know some people would like more realism, but I do not want realistic deaths in my game (i.e. cancer, strokes or heart attacks). So death by laughter, or in this case embarrassment, it is.

I wish I had more emotional deaths to be honest. I think I only had one so far and only because I purposefully made a sim very angry for the black widow challenge. Generally I think my sims don't die enough from unnatural causes, if I don't force a death they'll always die from old age. I'd like some more drama without having to create said drama myself :smiley:

That sùcks. How can I prevent that from happen? If she is embarrassed is it best to let her do things that comes up because she is embarrassed or NOT do them? Same for other type of emotion to of course

Assuming she was at the level of Mortified, she could have just simply dropped dead at any point then if not taken care of. I've not had any emotional deaths so I couldn't quite tell how it all looks like.

Next time let her go sleep quick or talk in the mirror until the mood changes. As soon as the sim gets the mood pause the game fast - don't wait for them to get any automatic actions queued up. Pause and let them go sleep or use the mirror. If it's hysterical, let them calm self down, if it's mortified or very sad or enraged, I think it's give self a pep talk. As for getting back the sim, just exit the game without saving. Not to the neighbourhood - exit to the main menu or exit the game itself. If you already saved well try to load a previous save from the main menu.
