How do I get Guidry and Temperance to stop coming around?

If I remove the lot trait of being a haunted house will that cease all ghostly visitations?  At this point my two sims living in the haunted house are over the ghosts although the tingles they give a...

There's a hand decorative item, I think it's called "Helping Hand", but I'm not sure.  You should be able to find it in Paranormal Stuff.  It looks like a hand with a bunch of runes marked all over.
Anyway, this hand will allow you to turn off his visits.
