How do I get Tomatoes?

I found onions,tomatoes,pears and a few other unpurchaseables seeds behind the blue velvet nightclub in willow springs ...you have to look at every tree.carefully and spot garden boxes some of.the trees look like the trees in the game...good luck ..im level 9 gardening btw

I've found that sleeping on the park bench in Oasis Springs overnight forces the plants to grow!

Tomato's are in Oasis Springs. In that community garden near the fishing spot across from Johnny Zest!

Most people probably already know this by now, but wild plants only grow while you are at one of the lots that connect to their neighborhood. If you want to harvest tomatoes from the plant near Slipshod Mesquite, you'll have to spend approximately 24 hours visiting Slipshod Mesquite or one of the other lots nearby. Fortunately, you don't have to do it all in one visit, it's just the total time that matters.

If you have the outdoor retreat game pack you can visit the park rangers booth and purchase tomato seeds.

Tomato! Tomatoes! Where can you find 'em?

Granite Falls Kiosk... where you interact to buy provisions. Buy a tomato from the kiosk (or enough for your vacation provisions so you have one left over at the end of your vacation) to bring back to your lot and place it in the world. Use F2 to move the tomato and place it on top of a planter box. Use to F1 to return to play mode and "plant" the tomato... and voila, you have a tomato plant.

(P.S.: Trash Fruit makes excellent fertilizer.)

It's good to have this information, but it's rather irritating that we don't have more options for something as simple as a tomato. I'm not a player who is into "collectibles". I play my game to watch my sims go about their lives, not to spend time tediously searching the world for a particular item. For me, it really takes the fun away.

I have several sims who enjoy gardening and cooking. I'd love for them to have fresh ingredients, but seriously, EA, having fresh tomatoes in the refrigerator shouldn't be any more difficult than going grocery shopping. That just my opinion, of course. I'd also like to have potatoes, but I have no idea where to find them, and I'm not going to waste time looking for them. Some players might enjoy that sort of thing, but it's no fun at all to me.

I bought my first tomato at the Granite Falls store. Of course, after that I found them all over the place in Oasis Springs.

If you have City Living, use the debug cheat and buy the produce stand. Place it on your community lot of choice and then you can buy fruits and vegetables there. There is also a grocery mod that I use, do a search for it, but the debug option works quite well.

I had the same problem trying to find a potato. You can search the gallery for "tomato" and check "rooms". Several people have put tomato plants in tiny rooms for people to download. Same with other collectibles.
