- SimTresa7 years agoSeasoned AceIt's fine with me. I can barely manage 8, I don't want it larger even though I do think about what if sometimes.
- 50/50 right now, wow. I just don't see the need to although I see the issue with pets.
- AfterMidnight137 years agoSeasoned NewcomerOnly by a bit, though. I think the method in previous games where you could have eight sims and two pets was perfect.
- the most sims i've ever had in a household at one time was 6, and i can't see myself ever going above that number. plus, i don't have cats and dogs
- Movotti7 years agoNew SpectatorI wouldn't mind at all if it could be increased to 10 or 12, though, 14 would be better, so you could have a proper cat lady with 13 cats.
- thatsnotsweg7 years agoSeasoned AceI'm okay with it, I don't usually play big families so it's usually not an issue. There have been a few times that I've wished we could have 10-12 household members though.
- LadyKyn7 years agoSeasoned AcePretty fine with the number of household. Only wish it didn't account towards pets.
Seen people mod this out so they're able to add more sims into a home, but things were chuggin' pretty hard with the game, especially since the game only allows 20 sims max on a lot? You definitely won't see ANY sims walking around and there's no one 'home' when you visit another home if there's too many. It's almost like they don't exist. If they were able to increase it with not too many problems that'd be great as some people may want more sims in a household. I've only had so many sims because of making an apartment complex and having them in their own apartment. - Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceI rarely play with more than 2 sims in a house unless I plan to ignore most of them ... so for my purposes no.
If they did increase it and it could affect how the game runs they should do it as an option with a warning or at least a recommendation. I can imagine the bug/glitch reports and threads because people just think their computer can run everything at max because it's possible to do so. "LadyKyn;c-16874962" wrote:

Only reason i dont reccomend modding them is because it causes problems. If even if you make the limit to 9 then it makes the other sims disappear which is why i say I increase with no problems- I've never had any issue with 8, I think it's a good number. I often played with families that were 5+ in TS2&3 and never wanted more space, because honestly it's just a lot of people. But in 4 having that many is torture on me for some reason. I have no idea why. I just had 7 in my legacy and one died so there's 6 and I've never felt such relief at a sim death ? all that to say I think the number is fine, but I could see it being annoying in 4 if you want to play a large household and have several pets, because you'd have to choose one or mod.
