I still have two sim days to go before Liberty's wedding and Summer made her a wedding cake before she and Darian left for Sulani.https://i.imgur.com/1zwH0Rv.pngI wanted to make the cake while Summer was still at home but I'm afraid the cake will either go bad or someone will grab a helping before I'm ready for Liberty to cut it. If I cheat to make everyone in the world happy and then disable needs decay for the entire world that should prevent a hungry sim taking a piece, but if I have a sim travel and have events will that turn needs decay back on? I edited the wedding venue to have a refrigerator to store the cake in as soon as Summer arrives in Sulani.Should I have waited until the night before, or the morning of, and found a place in Sulani to have her make the cake?

I thought wedding cakes had a 7 day expiration limit, if you’re able to create it the day before keep it the inventory until the time comes. Or if you want it out for sims to see, or screenshots you can place it on a table and put the red ribbon fence around it too look fancy

Have someone that finished the cooking aspiration that can make non perishable food make the cake, then store it in you inventory. You could download such a person from the gallery. And they could either be temporarily added to your household to make it, or you could use them to run a store selling non perishable items.

Thank you both. I remember something a while back about wedding cakes spoiling really quick, but maybe that bug has been addressed. If it has then I can keep it in Summer's inventory and I can keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't grab a slice.

Do you have the wedding game pack? If you plan a proper wedding, you can assign the cake to the wedding and it'll 'disappear' until needed. Then you click on a surface to place it somewhere during the wedding.

Does the wedding topper not prevent people from taking pieces? I always just put the cake down and put a topper on it as soon as I arrive at the venue. No problems so far.

To put it succinctly no. Sometimes, they make off with the entire cake.

@IceyJ I do have the pack and I forgot about having the bride or groom come to see the cake and select it as their's. I kept leaving it with the member of the wedding party who baked it and every time I checked it would be missing a slice or two. It's been almost a year since I did a wedding with the pack and I'm having to learn everything all over again.

@mightysprite @GalacticGal I didn't have a problem with the entire cake disappearing, just a slice or two. At least I discovered the missing slices before the wedding. I went back to the save point where I had Summer bake the cake and had her make another, more than once.

yeah definitely send it ahead, put it in the inventory and then click on it the option should appear for the wedding but it might appear without the event being planned not sure. Although you can order from a computer as well so in a pinch you can hide a computer on the lot somewhere and just order it fresh then put it down when you're ready.

Any more I have the groom (in this last instance it was Erik) purchase two identical cakes. I've learned to keep them both in his inventory until after the wedding. I am still in disbelief how a child fan, made off with what was left (almost a whole cake) rom their vow renewal. LOL

On one of the tries at baking the cake as soon as Summer finished I had her put it in her inventory then I moved the camera to look for Darian. When I switched back to Summer, all that only took like 5 seconds here in the real world, she was eating a slice of the cake! I know you're the baker, but that cake was for your soul sister's wedding! Summer how could you? I had her bake another and I placed the one snagged a slice from on a table so everybody, Liberty and the rest were there, could finish it.

Liberty didn't mind at all though. She's such a sweetheart.
