How do you manage the family photos?

This varies a bit from house to house, but most families have some photos on the walls. It's something I normally do when the household is new, and I might forget to take new photos for the next generation, but I will normally add minimum 1 per couple, and maybe a group photo too, when I expect them to have no more kids.

I've only just started getting into taking photos. They don't ever turn out that good though without a pose mod which I don't want in my game. I don't have enough to worry about space yet.

For my legacy challenge, I like to take several pictures of every family member as they grow up - usually about 10 photos by the time they hit YA. Once one generation is complete, I move their photos to the family cemetery/mausoleum lot to make room for the next gen's photos.

It is nice going back and looking at old photos. :)

If I hang pics or paintings on the walls, my game is getting laggy, at least when it's raining, lol.

I haven't managed photos since TS2, when it was simple. Now it's just too much hassle.

I play generationally, so I try and have a wedding photo of the current couple I'm playing, and then a photo with the heir and the main sim, so it shows a progression of the legacy. And then I tend to copy them when my heir becomes a YA and moves into a new house (I like my own legacy rules), and then I'll add in some family photos of the current parents and children to make it a bit more unique to each home. It gets a bit complicated though!

I really love the idea of having a family cemetary to store all the generations photos - that might help to keep things a bit simpler and stop my sims inventories from getting clogged - thanks!

I like houses with large windows and I play with walls half down, so anything that gets hung up probably won't be visible most of the time. I don't bother taking pictures at all in most of my saves.

The exception is my 100 Baby Challenge, where I'm taking a picture of each kid (or set of twins) when they age up to young adult. I don't have too many to manage yet, but I'll run out of wall space sooner or later. Maybe by then I'll be able to afford a bigger house. Or maybe I'll just cheat the pictures smaller so they take up less room.

I've only ever had 2 sims who took a photo with a camera, and possibly one more that used his phone for a selfie with a friend. Photography is not a skill I really care for, about as interesting as leveling charisma. I usually (not always, charisma is easier now with the video recording station) cheat both to max.

I lost all my familyphotos when that save broke (all photgraphs suddenly turned black, so did some pets, I still do not know what caused it), so all my families (whom I was able to save to the gallery and transfer to a new game) lost their photos of the kids from toddlers to young adults... :'(

Some sims take pictures more often than others, it just depends on what I feel they'd do. Since I've not made it past generation 4 in the same house, I haven't really had an issue with where the pictures go.

Now, when teenagers take selfies with and without friends, once they are grown and/or pass away from old age, their pictures will go in a chest I keep and the next tenant of their room will do as they wish with the room. But I always keep one or two photos in a hall or some such for remembrance.

My 100 Baby Challenge has the most photos scattered around her house of all my sims. She's a picture fiend. I imagine some will make their way into a chest for safe keeping when/if we ever need a matriarch number two. Otherwise, she'll keep littering pictures on every surface she can find (I have picture frame mods that let me put picture in the frame on desks, counters, tables, etc).
