How do you split a family to move some into a new empty house?

I tried evicting the family from the house I want my sims to move into but thereis no way apparently to move into an empty ho9use, it has to be merge with.

does anyone know?

I was successful with a family split, although under slightly different circumstances. My Sim married Alice Spencer-Kim and I had him move in with her and her dad and daughter, and moved the ex-husband and his mom out. I wanted those two to be available for the little girl to interact with, so after the split, I went to "families not in world" (or whatever that's called), found them, and moved them into a house. I had to use the freerealestate cheat, because they didn't have enough money to move in anywhere.

I'm trying to do the same thing and not having any luck. :\

In my case, the son got married, and I want the two of them to leave the house and move into a vacant one. Can't figure out how to split a household!

Do you know if you are able to take the sims work objects with them when they split houses?

They can only take what you can fit in their personal inventory.

Under Manage families you can move members into a "new household". At first I couldn't figure out how to do this, but there is a new household option. :) I was able to move members onto an empty lot and from there move them into an unoccupied house. (They didn't have the funds required up front.)
