Hey everyone. I've been playing sims 4 without mods since it's beginning. A few months ago Ive decided to try using Mccc and I fell in love with story progression again. I realized my game was kinda dull without it. The thing is since I'm using this mod I started receiving messages related to 'Last exceptions' that in my ignorance i think that are related to something that is not working properly. I don't have any more mods installed and I never had nothing like this happening in the past. I've decided I'm going to uninstall the mod but I know it'll be hard to play the game without story progression, now that I've experienced it. So my question is, how do you work your story progression without mods? Do you marry and/or put babies in households every week? What is your scheme?

The mod simply tells you when you get them; you would most likely get them regardless of whether it's installed or not as it's rarely ever the cause of them itself.The cause could be other mods, it could be CC, or sometimes it can even be the vanilla game itself.

Sorry, English isn't my first language. OK so if I don't have any mod or cc, this is most likely happening even with vanilla game. I'm just not been advised of that... But... is it normal?

I was curious (I don't use mods) and looked in the main TS4 folder. I spotted a few last exception files. So yes, that mod is just letting you know.

How do you work your story progression without mods?

This is unrelated to your question, but last exceptions shouldn't really scare you from using the mod. The mod simply tells you when you get them; you would most likely get them regardless of whether it's installed or not as it's rarely ever the cause of them itself.

The cause could be other mods, it could be CC, or sometimes it can even be the vanilla game itself.

Oh I just installed MCCC, I have to take a look for this Story Progression thing, what is it exactly?

The error means nothing. I've had it for a very long time and nothing comes from it. It shouldn't effect anything.

I just play all the different families in a rotation. I turned off all the story progression from MCCC as I like to be fully in control of everything that happens in my world and it had sims having babies all over the place before I changed the settings.

It's not really what I would call story progression. It just seems to randomly select sims to marry or have babies.

@Wintermist_SWE, using your sim's computer, you can click on mccc menu and there, in Mc population. There you can decide on a percentage of sims that can marry and/or get pregnant from the non played sims. This will mean that, finally, your non played sims will have families on their own. Their stories will happen without you having to worry. Once a week Mccc will marry/ make pregnant sims, according to a lot of things that you decide on mccc menu. I love this mod cause you can decide on how many babies, toddlers, kids, teens, YA, adults and elders will the game randomize to inhabit neighborhood houses or just walk in town. For example, I used to see my worlds too much full of elders. Now, I've programmed Mccc to randomize younger sims, but never adults or elders. I still have those on the game, but only as my townies get old. I also allowed teenagers to have kids (for more drama) and have a romantic relationship with older sims (cause it just didn't make sense to me that two teens on a romantic relationship had to start it all over after being Ya). There's a lot you can do with this mod. But the thing I cannot play without now is story progression. Neighbourhoods feel alive. You find neighbours with their kids. If you're playing legacies, you'll have families that keep bonds for generations. It's spectacular, Imo.
