Thanks very much~ She has a very small apartment she shares with a roommate so I tried to make it feel cozy. :)

Winter just started in my game with Winterfest still 2 weeks out, but I did have my sims start decorating.

I put the pre-decorated christmas tree in the foyer, the lobby area of the penthouse which the elevator arrives at. I even turned off all the other lights in the foyer so that only the tree is providing illumination for the duration until the holiday. Also hung some stars, and some holiday cards.



I also decorated above the bar, which runs along the entry hall after entering from the foyer. Just some hanging ornaments so far.


And lastly I started decorating the living area. So far just have the tree up and some garland. The sims will work on decorating the tree over the course of the next sim-week of play.



I have more decorating to do, no wreaths up yet, nor any of the nutcrackers. I will do the rest once the sims themselves finish the christmas tree.

@LadyKyn, I love that you're decorating the small apartment your sims live in instead of thinking they need to save their pennies for a bigger place. Is that big green, evergreen garland you have running along the wall CC? I haven't seen it in game. If it is not cc, you simply must tell me where to find it.

@Stormkeep ;O Very pretty. I really like the decorations above the bar. I really should think about decorating some of the bars and such a little bit to get that festive spirit when my sims go out on the town now and again.

I kinda like my sims small apartment not much room, but decorating the inside was fun.

The garland is actually from Seasons as it's a wall decoration. :) It's called Garland Express.

@LadyKyn OMG, thank you so much. It is right there when I searched by its name...and is just a few items to the right of the hanging ornaments I used, but somehow I never noticed it. I always have been using the "Holiday Garland" but like the larger size and bows of the garland express.

@Stormkeep Most welcome. I like the one in Seasons as it's a little bit neater looking and you don't have to upscale it.

I'm about to start working on mine. Hey new Christmas Items and recipes are coming in Tomorrow's Patch.

My Sims just had Winterfest. I actually changed the traditions, because the grand meal always stressed me out. Half my Sims either have the forever full trait or they're vampires. And, just like in real life, I never take the decorations down until late spring. ^_^;;

So in place of grand meal and decorations this year, my Sims lit candles and went to a ceremony. It was much more relaxing and actually reminded me more of how I remember Christmas with my family growing up. We always went to a candlelight service after dinner on Christmas Eve. It had a kind of magical feeling to it, seeing the whole sanctuary lit with just the candles people were holding. The Sims can't do the exact same thing, of course, but it was close enough to bring back good memories. :)

I suppose I should have waited to celebrate until after the new patch came out, but New Year's isn't here yet, so hopefully I can borrow some Winterfest stuff for that.

Oh, very nice! I had tweaked winterfest a bit myself. I do enjoy the grand meal, but my sims always grab it from the leftovers in the fridge and grain a lot of weight. :#

Yeah, I can see the grand meal trait being pretty useless to vampires.
