How is your Sim getting ready for Christmas? (Winterfest) Show me your pics

Getting closer to the holidays and in game I'm actually within the month of Winter. About another week or two til Winterfest. I've been decorating my sims small apartment, since she's still saving up for a proper home.

Sugar cookies and milk is the way to go. :p

Decorating your sims home for holidays and the seasons always feels pretty intimate and more meaningful to me as it feels like sims are actually LIVING in the space they have. I'm thinking of taking some photos of her with family and putting them up on the wall to help with that feeling more.

Are you doing anything to prepare for the holidays with your sims? :)

  • One of the things my sims will be doing on Christmas Day is ice skating in the park. I'm going to make sure its snowing. I keep that weather machine on standby.
  • Bah! Winterfestday just arrived in my game and it's one day too early! The new stuff isn't patched in until tomorrow. :(

@LadyKyn, What I do for the Grand Meal is give the leftovers away as a gift to some npc sim that I invited over....that way my sims won't be eating it and getting fat in the days after the holiday (can't take credit for the idea...it's what my step-mom does IRL ....I'm the one usually taking a crate of food home, hahaha)

I edited the holidays to add a WinterFest Eve, and moved Father Winter's arrival to that holiday (as well as give gifts, attend holiday ceremony, baking and decorating traditions). Then on WinterFest day we do Decorate, Open Gifts, Festive Spirit, Holiday Lighting and Grand Meal. I always invite family of my active household over for the grand meal, and then send the food home with some of the guests.

Decorating a few more apartments to give some of them a bit of a more festive feeling. Helpful, since my sim tends to get invited by neighbors now and again.

@Stormkeep Good idea. I hate having to have them throw it in the garbage all the time. Depending on the sims, might have them visit family or friends and have them pre-cook a grand meal and take it over to their place along with any other dish and then just leave it there less I take it in a packed lunch.

I have the lighting of the tree holiday. Just lighting candles, going to the holiday ceremony and sharing festive spirit. :)

Taking pictures of my Sims in their festive clothing for Winterfest is pretty fun. Definitely feels different having pictures of sims up on the wall as it feels more personal.

Gorgeous! Winterfest has already come and gone but it's once again Fall in my game, so another Winter is on the horizon!
This was taken last Winterfest. Now both kids are teens and the daughter will be a young adult in 8 days!!

Do you sack it up before giving the meal to another sim?

    Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't.

This past Winterfest (which just ended in my game) I gave Father Winter the whole platter of cookies, but I sacked up the leftover grand meal ham and tofurkey so that I could give some to each of the invited sims. I had about 20 sims over and the only way to give everyone leftovers was sacking it.
Father winter actually ate some of the cookies before he even left my sim's home...which I thought was pretty cool.

Seems the sims seem to be in the festive spirit and building snow pal's everywhere especially in a cluster of 3. Looks like a snowpal family.
