- 4? But I play with aging off and huge households of 2-3 families usually that are quite micromanaged... so it rather works like a natural birth control. I have no need to 'replace' aging or dead sims, and having toddlers in a large career household is a lot of work. But it's also cool. I had my first couple have 5 kids (who are all married and dispersed amongst the other game households, but with the other couples it tends to be 1-2 each couple. Plus a couple of little dogs I keep moving around with me to a bunch of the households when I'm running them. They are rather like having a toddler that you cannot really control/read entirely. ;)
I'm thinking I may try a separate game and turn aging on and treat things more 'normally'? There would be a lot less wealth, and probably a lot more generations that way! - In the Sims 2 I got to generation 10 and then my game got corrupted. I think I played two branches of one original family.
Right now in the sims 4 I am on a 7th/8th generation. I have a gallery in their house of every "heir" (I don't play legacy or anything) lined up. I haven't played that family in months though. My heir was really successful as an early adult (she was an archaeologist explorer) but then she died in the temple and her sister is kind of a loser who got turned into a vampire (but not before she had a daughter with her dead sisters ex fiancé...yikes), so I have the 8th generation heir. I am not continuing because 1. The two sisters father is one of my favorites and I play on normal lifespan so I don't want him to die 2. Im actually not sure where the story is going! - I've been playing my main household for 3 years and I've only made it to gen 4 since I play on long.
for my nsb family I'm only on 4 (the gray gen), though I am close to producing a gen 5 heir. - The most I ever got to was 13 generations in TS3 and then I think my save file got messed up or something. I only remember that because each generation was a letter of the alphabet and I got to 'M,' lol. That was actually the family of the first sim I ever made in TS3!
In Sims 4 my currently family is on Gen 5. Other TS4 families have surpassed 5 generations, but if I remember correctly my longest lasting family accidentally went extinct.... I made a mistake by playing a different family in the same neighborhood with aging on for the whole neighborhood... they all died of old age without me realizing it!
Now I'm curious to go through old save files, I was on hiatus for a long time and genuinely do not remember what old families I still have :D
*edited for grammar - kiarasims4mods7 years agoSeasoned AceCurrently at the 7th generation.
- I play several families in my rotational save.
In Go family generation 3 sims are teens.
In Vera family generation 4 sims are toddlers.
In Sims 3 I played a family to generation 5. - aprilrose077 years agoSeasoned AceAlmost 30
- Current in on 7th gen! Going slower now since I changed to a longer lifespan, I wanted my age progression to be more natural with the seasons.
- Fluteline247 years agoSeasoned AceHonestly? I think the furthest I've ever gotten has been like... gen 4.
I'm on gen 3 right now with one of my saves, but I'm putting them on hold until GF comes out because I want the heir to become famous. :) - my fourth generation is about ready to take over. this is the first time I've really sat down and committed to a family but I'm enjoying it so far.
