I come up with different stories for every generation, like the one i described in the OP. I also had a setting where the daughter had real daddy issues. He wouldnt let her go out, or do anything but study and improve skills.Like If she didnt cleen after a meal he would scream at her for being lazy. This resultet in her starting to rebel and having lots of different boyfriends. Which didnt make the situation any better.. She finally got the guts to move out. Because of her problems with her dad she never trusted men completely, usually ending in short relationships. One of the guys made her pregnant, and she had to race a daughter of her own all by herself. with commitment issues and low self esteem she couldnt keep a job for long, and her daughter ended up having to take care of her mother, instead of the other way around. Makes for an interesting story :)
