Yes I know the Sims 4 is a "service game" but the Sims 5 is as inevitable as me ordering pizza at 1am (this happens more then I care to admit) and with 30 packs to its name I suspect an upper limit exists for the Sims 4 - regardless of what they officially tweet.Love it or hate it, the Sims 4 also has its limitations and there's only so much they can add within its current structural "confines" of design. Only so many "fresh" ideas that can sell packs, with the bigger releases (more or less) behind the Sims 4.With University as the next expansion more or less unofficially confirmed for Nov 15, I personally suspect we will see 2-3 more packs after that. One between Feb-Mar (probably a stuff pack) and a gamepack for Spring (Apr-May) and perhaps a final expansion pack in July/August. After that I suspect the Sims 5 will be announced for the fall. I could also be totally wrong, they could have packs planned out until 2022 too, especially if packs are selling at a steady rate. Not outside of the realm of possibility based on previous EA investor calls (which stated as much publicly).There's also the possibility of delaying the Sims 5 until early 2021 to launch alongside PS5/next gen consoles AND/OR simply to get the Sims 5 release "done right" based on the rocky launch of the Sims 4. In which case I'd suspect a March 2021 release. Regardless the Sims 5 is coming eventually, even if its 5 years from now or 2, so how many more packs do you think we'll see for the Sims 4?

The Sims Team has said they have three years minimum of content for The Sims 4 and hasn't publicly spoken about The Sims 5 yet. That redesign they did a few months back (admittedly, a controversial decision) was also known to be the developers showing their commitment to The Sims 4 and a reminder that there's much more to come.

Well I think that 2-3, we already heard on a "university" leaks, so I guess that's gonna happen, and after this one, i think maybe one more and then they will start with ST5 teasers / official leaks , TS4 is like 5 years old , and sorry but i think that TS3 was way better, they need to bring TS5 good just like TS3 was..but updated to this day's graphics

It looks like there will be five packs this year alone, counting the Moschino pack and one pack not yet announced. If I think of content for a couple of more years then it will easily be seven or more packs. Probably they'll get around trying some new stuff that hasn't been seen in the series before.

my hope is that they release university and then take time to focus on improving base game and all the packs that are already out instead of making new ones, but i know that's not gonna happen. a girl can dream thoughi honestly don't know the point of releasing so many packs. lately it feels like there's been dozens of them popping upalso i kinda hope the sims 5 isn't for a long time because what's the rush?

I’d say 3 more years at roughly 3 packs per year. So 9 packs.

Sims 4 feels fairly complete to me now. I am looking forward to several more years and more packs but it's at a place where I don't need them, even playing vanilla, so I can happily wait for sales.

I can't imagine starting over again both with content And my save files when I already have a game that I can enjoy now. Seems like a waste of money to me... But if sims 5 were to blow me away with something like gradual aging and fantastic family play and still have sims 4 art style, I could be perhaps be persuaded.

SimGuruDuke at EA Play this Summer said 3 or more years of content for TS4.

I wouldn't mind this if they hand't already started to over recycle things with recent packs...... and if they put on some extra work/people to fix this plum buggy plum game.

It is a shame that they are yet to recycle features that players actually want such as cars, an Open World and a CAW tool :(

Or at least CAW and cars they have already said Open World is not possible.

Well, I would like to see farming, a romance and wedding pack, some more vacations real baby patch, cars, several stuff packs...another children’s pack, a teenage pack and an elder pack, a baby pack ( after they fix them), a casino pack, not to mention some small animals like lizards, birds, Snakes, tarantula’s etc. and more active jobs. I’d say the earliest the Sims 5 would be here is the end of 2021. They said 2020 would be the busiest year so I think it will be somewhat over 7 packs

2020 will be busier than this year? I feel like they’ve dropped quite a lot this year tbf, especially if university is coming

I'm the opposite. It doesn't feel complete to me. We're still missing a lot of content and were missing family and romance gameplay. With the latter sims still cant slowdance, there is no attraction system and weddings need a major upgrade.

Also there still isnt a lot to do. Themeparks would fix this and then there is the missing objects and features.

That probably means more stuffpacks in 2020.

Sims 1 had 7 Expansions
Sims 2 had 8 Expansions
Sims 3 had 11 Expansions

I think Sims 4 will have around 12 / 13 Expansions because we know EA like to spread several purchases.
However, since we now have Expansion, Game and Stuff packs; It could mean less actual expansions?

I love the Sims 4, but whatever the amount of packs may be, they seriously need to be focusing on performance as well. Outside of some bugs, I never really has any performance problems, but now performance is becoming an issue. My new computer: i7-9700, 16GB DDR4 Ram, RTX 2060 doesn't make a difference in performance to my old computer: i7-6700, 32GB DDR3 Ram, GTX 970. The performance issues are the exact same, mostly camera stuttering. If they keep going in this direction, TS4 is gonna end up like TS3. They gotta fix this stuff before it gets worst.

With University, soon all the big/popular ones are out of the way but they can still make some game packs to add werewolves, fix bugs and add new features or just come one with something new. I am guessing the the focus would be more of developing new features and improving old ones. We had some big patches before and they say we got a few more years. If two expansions a year plus two game packs at this rate and they go for five years, that can mean at least 20 packs; but I doubt it. They might slow things down a bit after awhile and just use that time to improve on things instead or maybe they just don't really have any set plans yet for how long it will go on for.

I rather they work on one game than rush things as that never ends well.
