- I love the clutter! It makes the houses feel more realistic and lived-in. Occasionally I'll create a very neat and proper character and decorate their house with minimalism in mind, but most of my houses are packed full.
I find it also discourages Sims from leaving their empty plates on bookshelves, wall shelves, computer desks, nightstands and other places where I don't notice them right away. They sure love filling empty spaces with dirty plates and they can't do that if there's decorations in the way. - sikoah7 years agoSeasoned VeteranClutter it up! I love clutter because I feel as if it makes my sims homes feel unique and like spaces that are lived in. It doesn't need to look messy it just needs a few things here and there. I am forever using CC clutter. Pillows, food stuff, glasses, coffee cups, vases, etc.

It is only realistic if you live in a cluttered house and can tolerate all the dust catchers. Not everybody can. To me it looks messy because clutter in real life creates dusty = unhealthy air that some of us humans don't do well to breath. I not only don't have clutter in my real house I have to run air purifiers to keep the air cleaner. Keep that in mind. What looks realistic to you is not always realistic to everyone else and of course vice versa.
I do give my sims more clutter than I have in real life - like pictures, plants, and maybe even a fruit bowl etc - but it also does not look any more realistic that a house with no clutter either. I just wish it all had a purpose. Like kitchen utensils - sims could use etc.- sikoah7 years agoSeasoned VeteranHmm...This is an interesting thing. To me lots of clutter means lots of choices. In this pic there are at least 18 CC pieces of clutter. I say at least because there are a few items I didn't put in the picture. Some of them are one piece and some of them are not. they may just look like it. 18 pieces of clutter is just the beginning. Once my sim can expand her house and her kitchen I'll eventually move stuff around and add more to it. I like to look at it. *shrugs*

I love messy sim homes <3
If they're not cluttered and messy, they just look like generic hotel rooms to me.
They have no character. I like my homes to be lived in.

- I like to clutter it with things they collect, crystals, posters the globes, the little sims ornaments, but I have to be careful not too much because my game goes slower the more things I have in the house and bills are more expensive.
In real life I hate clutter, my hubby loves a bit of clutter, and it does feel more homely for us. but me personally the less is best. - ladybreid7 years agoSeasoned AceMy home isn't cluttered , I like having some bare areas BUT it is cluttered enough to still be considered cozy. It is never dirty but is certainly lived in. I like my house to be roomy but still cozy, it's a balancing act.
I try to make my sim homes have the same feel. - If it makes sense. A flower vase on a table, a book left on a table, maybe some stacked papers if the Sim is a wizard, or known to be messy. Too much is an eye sore. A few picture frames on a desk, maybe a shelf with some toys or someting they collect, but that's enough and not in every room. Unless you are playing a teen who might have dirty clothes, shoes, junk around because they never clean their room. :D
I agree about dust collectors, the older you get you realize you need to unload some what-nots since you might not be able to dust that junk everyday. Allergies are a pain. - Busufu7 years agoSeasoned Acelike IRL :D
