686 GB is plenty of free space for those sim packs you want to install. On the EA site it says that Growing Together EP requires 26 GB, but I think that's for all of TS4 not just the EP. It certainly wasn't 26 GB when I installed it on my computer.

Thats plenty of space... Sims 4 of itself, the program folder is about 55gigs worth or so.

Thank you! I know I was able to play it just last May without HSY installed. I'll have to mull it over a bit more. I'm feeling a little shaky, given we still don't know quite what happened to the rig. We only know that the hard drive isn't receiving, so it won't go past a certain loading screen on Windows. Basically, it's dead in the water.

ETA: Do you think I can switch to the EA App, as well? I've got Origin which was newest version as of last May.

For me, the switch to EApp was quite painless... Didnt need to uninstall the game files , so wasted a while after switching... It should be okay for you.

Thanks. I've been using it on the rig and didn't know if it would take up too much space. As you can tell I'm rather nervous about the whole thing. I just had my first Infant in game and then kablooey. The rig went south just this past Sunday and I didn't even get to play that day. Lost the latest update I was working on, too. Oh, well. Thank you again for your help. :)

Why the nervousness? Did you have problems when you played on your laptop last summer?

No, but the game is now bigger and I'm on a PC, which means the EA App, which worked well on my gaming rig. I think I'm nervous it could break my laptop, as well. I think it's the not-knowing why the rig went kablooey, is what has me nervous. If I lose my laptop, too. I'm totally vaporized.

@GalacticGal I had to switch over to the Ea app with my laptop that is just over 6 years old. My laptop had a huge problem after installing the newest windows and had to have a complete factory reset done. I saved my ea folder in documents to a harddrive and then did the reset. Installed the Ea app ( origin was no longer available) and have had no issues so far. Its been painless. Once everything was installed and I ran the game for the first time, I replaced the ea folder with my harddrive one and it was as if nothing ever changed ;)
