How to do Rotational Families with Seasons?

This is difficult. The way I like to imagine my game is that I'm playing all my households in the same time era, as if time was standing still until ive completed a rotation ie. Every household would be played for a week during summer and then on my next full rotation each household would be played in autumn etc.

But since I rotate around maybe 20 households this would mean each season would need to last 140 days lol.

I still rotate whenever I want. As I am playing on long life span with 2 week seasons, I feel like rotating anytime to push sims' birthdays far away.

I have my seasons set to 28 days long and I play with aging off. Even with that, I am having a difficult time getting to all my households during each season. I may have to choose one or more households to leave off my rotation. The only worlds that don't have an active household are Brindleton Bay and San Myshuno. Those two worlds are destination spots for my Sims. But I am still actively playing fourteen households and it is making me feel a bit rushed to get to each one. I may just place six households and their lots in my library and start a new save with those six households. I don't want them to go unplayed as I put a lot of time and effort into them. So they deserve their own save file. LOL


Seasons is just too much fun to rush through a few days or a week with one family then leave them behind to play another family. This expansion might force me to rethink rotational play. Or at least modify my method of play. I haven't decided yet. I actually played three households on Winterfest and all three had an awesome holiday. But it was a busy day for me. Every household had five traditions but one household didn't eat their Grand Meal until ten PM. The sad moodlet the Sims get when a holiday goes badly or is canceled is just, well, sad. It's almost like disappointing your own kids! I am planning on doing some summertime get-togethers for my family of Sims which includes two sisters, their brother, three spouses and two toddlers and four kids. But there is no room to invite the friends of the family members. Twelve Sims crammed into one house is about all the Sims this Simmer can handle at one time. If I didn't micro-manage every detail maybe I could handle a few more Sims but more than twelve seems excessive.


If you keep your active households to four or five it will help you find out how many Sims you can handle without feeling rushed. The holidays are the biggest obstacle to actively playing each family if you want all your playable Sims to have great or awesome holidays without getting the sad moodlet. And everyone in the world you are playing, including NPCs, are celebrating the same holiday, with the same traditions, as your active Sims. That makes it very difficult to make sure all active Sims have awesome holidays. It's something that I like because everyone in that world knows what day it is and what type of holiday is on that day. But it does make rotational play more challenging. The new gardening tweaks make rotational play a challenge, too. We have seasonal plants now so we have to adjust what we plant, and when, to get the best harvests. It's quite challenging. Much of the gardening itself has been simplified but I'm still learning about the plants.


For a long-time rotational player, the adjustment is ongoing. I am going to see how it goes during Spring and Summer in the game and maybe by then, I will have found a comfortable middle ground between the way I am used to playing and how best to utilize the new gameplay I don't want any of my Sims to miss out on enjoying. It's just fun to watch the toddlers and kids and this game is all about having fun so I will probably place a few households into a new save and bounce between two saves rather than try rotating through three worlds and fourteen households.

I've got 2 families per game that I rotate, play on long and my seasons are 2 weeks each. So far I've found my happy medium. I've tried not to miss birthdays despite having the bug that splits up twins into not-twins, but each family can have a holiday or two per season and it's no big deal if they miss some of them because they will return next year. I added a few holidays so each season has two of them and each game has an added special holiday for its theme in one of the seasons.

Here is what the Mod Does pretty much lots of Cheats also NOT just Aging I'm so in LOVE with it it's a MUST for me this is a LONG list of what it does but figured you might want to know guys !!!

Mc Command Mod pretty much does this Aging Mod you can turn off Mod for just 1 sim and Age up everyone else up like if you want to Age up your Wife Life make her Die of OLD age but let the Husband Not Age at all so he can get remarried again and start another Family again with another Family or well become Gay lol...It's a Game I make it Fun NOT real life lol or well not for me anyways and Oh forgot to say also in this Mc Command Mod you can Setup in Each Stage of Life How Many Days you want them to Live like in my Game my Toddlers Age up in Only 2 days and I believe its usually a week or longer lmao and yeah I can't do or HANDLE Sims Toddler's that long they drive me NUTS !!! You can also setup how long Pet's live/Pregnancy now but I'm not so sure how the Pet's Prenancy settings work and the Mc Command has a heck of a lot of other Mods and Cheats check it out....And 2 more thing 1 Thing Kinda SUCKS Some Settings in this Mod will let you know when you set them up in the game on the PC And the Sim that you have to Restart for the Setting to take an Effect and they are more than a few Settings that NEED this depending witch setting you guys like want to change..... The other Thing to tell you there is also a Script Mod and a Reg Mod so if you don't know how to download just read on that Site where you download I think it tells you how to download... Cause if you downloaded right Mc Command should show up on BOTH a Computer and a SIM and you HAVE to have a PC cause that is where MOST the Cheats are.... I have mine on long life, but seasons only 7 days. then rotate every 28 days, the morning after the new year's celebration. It'll take forever to get through them all, but at least they get to experience all the seasons, plus it's been great spending more time with each household.

I'll play with ageing off, 7 days per season. Will stop by several houses during each season, but will skip some of them unless there's a birthday or special activities coming up. I might up it to 14 days per season, but I won't play all households so 14 days should do.
