How To Keep Worlds Alive?

With the lack of story progression in this game, I wondered how you all go about keeping your hoods 'alive' and progressing. Do you just let sims die out and replace them with new sims/families? Do you pop into houses and progress them on your own?

I play rotationally myself, but not every single household in all of the worlds. And I am, of course, noticing now that none of the unplayed households are getting romantic, having babies etc. I'm not sure what I want to do about it. I've never kept a single save running this long lol.

Edit: if you have mods to do it, that's great, but I like to play vanilla :)

Heh. I play aging off across the board. I don't care about progressing them in terms of them marrying or having kids. I rotate to who I want to rotate to play when I choose to.

I honestly don't want any type of "story progression" in my game because this is my story and my game. All the sims I create and place don't intertwine just to make families or get old and die.

It may seem an odd way to play to some, but I think it's more fun for me to have all my sims living in this world and living a dream and expanding their horizons ( as content that suits them comes out).

It's fantasy. It's fun. It's dreams I'll never see irl.

LOL. Life plum and then you die. That's NOT how I want to play my game.

I'm sure most players aren't playing their favorite Sims/families that way.

No. They are playing "Utopia". A doll house where life is perfect. They are playing Stepford Wives. Which is boring as hell to me.

"Utopia" could also be a world in which Sims never age and get to accomplish everything they (the player) desire in an ideal time. That sounds like a perfect life as well.

Anyways, the OP specifically wants to know how to keep her worlds alive, insinuating that she does have aging on and is interested in unplayed Sims reproducing to keep the population up, resulting in more Sims for her played households to interact with. Your response didn't really offer any insight into her particular problem.

Yep, that's exactly what I wanted :) Thank you to all the peeps who have replied <3

My Global Superstar isn't living in Utopia. He's constantly besieged by fans, he's got a STAN (stalker type fan) and he's newly engaged to a female Sim who can't keep from throwing a fit every time he's kind to one of his admirers. It's not like he's kissing any of them! I'm uncertain this couple will even make it to the altar at this rate.
